So I am freshly unemployed. Not that I recently had a job, but I am now in the job search - that thing you do after college.

Now, regardless of degree, I wanna hear what the best job for an avid disc golfer. You want time for travel, you want to have afternoons available for throwing, ect.

Whats the best job for a disc golfer?

Anything self employeed.

Anything that's 8-5 will severly limit your free time. I strugle to find time after work to play + take care of day to day responsibilities, maintain a relationship, etc.... And I'm only 24. I can't imagine throwing kids, etc. into the mix. The weekends are when I get most of my rounds in.

My friends who are self employeed are the ones who can play 5+ times per week with ease.

Im a route driver and love it. Im off by 2pm at the latest and work M-F, off all holidays. Can reschedule my stops to get off early any day!

I would have to say anything that ISNT 2nd shift. Im at work right now, all ill tell ya that my hours here suck as much as they can (2pm-1030pm) that and mixed with having a 2 year old, severely limits my playing time. So basically my dream job would be at this point, like i said, anything that isnt 2nd shift.

But yeah id love to just plain be self-employed

Cross auto supplier off of your list. Good money, perfect hours, but way too many weekends kills tournament plans all the time.

Something with off hours and/or mid-week weekends like mine. Having done it for 13+ years, I can assure you though it comes with a price.

im applying for all that white collar 8-5 crap, but also im throwing bartending into the mix... lol

i figure ill spend all of september trying to push my degree around before i start bussing tables.

i just wanna be a toys-r-us kid.

My dubs partner and 1Time homie is a bartender and has been forever. Works pretty good except he takes a hit when when need to leave early since he doesnt get vacay or holiday pay

I'm a social worker. I work with young kids with developmental delays and behavioral concerns. I go in 5 days a week at 7:15 and get off around 3:15. I think my job is very conducive to disc golf in that I have afternoons and weekends off. :)

Im a food processer for a ice cream factory go in at 6 off at 230, the hours are sweet and weekends and holidays off. Plus your get used to waking up early and makes going to early tourneys easier.

Real estate agent! I currently work reselling timeshares and am on a 12 - 9 schedule, but standard RE work has you traveling all over the place with time to kill in between appointments and a schedule you pretty much make yourself. I personally enjoy my 12 - 9 as I can get 2 rounds in the morning when there are very few people on the course.

I am cleaning up debris from the Joplin, MO tornado. I work 630 to 330 monday thru friday. Weekends off. :) Before the tornado I worked with developmentally disabled people. I worked 7am to 3pm but i had to work saturdays :(

I have what I think to be the ultimate disc golf job - I am a sales coordinator for my company. I travel somewhere on the east coast for 10 days/month and am in a different town every day. I try to stay near a disc golf course nearly every day and play in the evenings after work. Since all my worries are back at home, I have no distractions to keep me from getting some quality rounds.

Though I am getting tired of the travel, I do feel lucky that I've had this opportunity.

My job is the best! I'll give you 3 reasons. June, July, & August. Physical Education teacher.

I have that job too, except I can beat that, I only have 4 classes of 20 students each per day :) (that is 2 hours of work a day!)

I sit in front of a computer for 40 hours a week. Makes you appreciate being outside so much more.

Everyday I'm envious of the unemployed that can play all day long. I'm a facility manager and usually play a couple rounds at lunch and a couple after work. But...

With the shortened days and dog/cats and family to take care of sometimes I can't Play as much as I would like.
