Zone: Most Unique disc ever??

ok. does it have a unique flight too? i mean just because it feels or looks diff doesnt really mean it is unique.

I havent thrown one so I dont know it. but are there other discs that fly the same or similar?

Her you ask abt a disc having a unique flight as well

Id say the ringer is more unique than a zone, shape and stability, Zone is more mid like than putter, and is shaped alot like an XD IMO.

This is a valid argument. I cannot think of another disc that looks, flies, or feels like a ringer.

Primitus by Lat. 64- Only made in a weird grip line plastic blend with a huge dome but also very stable. never heard such weird sounds when a disc hits the chains or a tree and the over-all shape as well as feeling is really like nothing else on the market that I have ever touched.

dont have an argument for this. havent thrown or seen it I dont think. but Domey putter that is overstable. seems unique. not to mention that grip line.

This thread makes me laugh. The OP asks if there are any other discs as unique as the zone, then as everyone proceeds to give their opinion of other unique discs, he shoots them down one by one. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE ZONE!!!

yup, I'd say the ion before the zone. I don't see anything special about the zone. Even the rhyno seems more unique to me.

I agree- the Zone sounds a lot like my current putter the pure and just checked the specs on it which match up pretty close... Never thrown a Zone but seems a lot like my Pure :popcorn:

A headwind never has hurt my baby either.. almost seems to fight to hold its straight line then a small fade and NEVER turns over on a drive 300'+

Sorry its not a putter actually a max distance driver which is even more odd being it feels like a Mid...! They were the first Lat. 64 driver ever produced and never took off but actually a REALLY solid disc.

I said to bring it. with unique discs. so far the only ones I consider unique are the Ringer and the Primitus.

let me pause for a sec.
**Pure looks nothing like a Zone.***

how come nobody said Comet. thats what came to mind for me. nothing looks like it. as far as flight we know there is only one Comet.

i wouldnt day the zone has a unique flight or feel at all.

The Blow Fly and the Arrow are bizarely unique

how is the blowfly unique?
the arrow is a scaled down version of aerobies frisbees. nothing unique about them besides the fact they have no glide when their big brothers are very glidey.

Rhyno is not unique. Pig is almost physically identical. Tank too. just a bead for difference.

when these were released they were VERY unique and nothing like them. just because it didnt happen in the time youve been playing doesnt mean you can discount them.

Zone = Shorter Drone

the juju is not a gimmick either.

the JUJU was a great flying disc with awesome glide. i hated it tho for putting. way more unique in shape and flight than the zone.

and that is a spot on comparison of the zone. o wait its to unique to be compared to a drone....<laughs at OP>

it isnt unique.

feels and looks similar to a pure and xd.
pro d plastic or esp nothing unique abt that
flight similar to beefy overstable mids like beaded gator, or sharpshooter #2

It is unique by one definition but fails in the fact that there are similar discs that look,feel,fly the same.

I think The XD is the Zones counterpart. The XD is one of a kind in flight, speed, rim depth, glide and feel in the hand.

Both the XD and Zone are low profile fast putters on different ends of the stability spectrum.

The classic roc is a bit like the Zone IMO.... Not as overstable but comes close.

ok. so what your saying is it took 4 different discs characteristics to describe the Zone

oh snap dog

ok. so what your saying is it took 4 different discs characteristics to describe the Zone

you could say that about half the disc out there. sounds to me like you have a hard on for this disc nd will not let it go down as not being unique.

I am going to throw the Zone back in my bag. It is a great disc....

How about the Innova Kite? I haven't run into any other disc that was as domey as that thing. Even the River, which is touted as having more glide, is less domey. Maybe I'm missing something else?

Zone is like the glide in that it is misclassified.
Zone= slow mid
Glide = fast mid

When you compare zone to putters yes its unique, compared to mids not so much.

I dont have the energy to go over this again. my point is........ in this sport we are always comparing discs between manufacturers. i dont believe there is any "one" disc that you can say that is like a zone. not a longer zone. or a less stable zone. just "like a zone"

how come nobody said Comet. thats what came to mind for me. nothing looks like it. as far as flight we know there is only one Comet.

cause its not unique anymore. its just the best one at doing the job it was designed for. altho the fuse is a close second.

i think your missing the point. thats every disc out there. none of them fly exactly the same or look exactly the same. but they do compare to other discs in certain attributes. like i said your hard on for this disc clouds your eyes
