The Dye A Day Thread! (Part II)

Couple commissions going out today. Some problems since the client said he sent me white star and they were very used factory dyed Pro plastic. Did my best considering the circumstance. Was able to work with him and already have another one coming for him later this week, so I guess it all worked out, just frustrating!

White Star--Very used factory dyed Pro plastic, common mistake.

The NY Hockeystick is supposed to be white, but the guy gave me an orange disc and said "do the best you can". I got to use my $4.95 circle cutter for the first time and it worked great. I'm comfortable freehanding curves, but those concentric circles would not look nearly that good.

Nice. I never had much success with one of those circle cutters.

Looks awesome. May I please ask, "Where does one aquire a $4.95 circle cutter"?

I got it online. I don't remember the website, but I found it by googling "circle cutter" and looked at all of them that came up. Shipping was $2.95 for a total of $7.90.

When I was thinking of getting one, somebody on here gave me a tip: spin the vinyl instead of trying to turn the cutter. I think that's the key.

Got my Exacto brand circle cutter at JoAnn's, I think it was $5.95. Used it to do this one a while back. Lot's of (almost) concentric circles and I agree, spinning the vinyl is the trick!

I'm still learning but this is my favorite dye so far, a phoenix on a teebird (just going for bird on a bird)

I hope you don't mind, but I'm stealing this idea for a friend, with some subtle differences.

That is one beautiful disc...

This is actually on a reddish opto Pain, but due to the backlighting, it looks more pinkish. It was the only way I could manage to get a decent photo without glare...

Also, the smudgey area to the lower left was my attempt to photoshop out someone's contact info.

I wanted to make a contribution to the dye a day. I Just finished a dye I did to a disc over a 3 day period. The kanji is my son Kenshiro's name which means " Son with the Samari's soul. The top kanji is swordsman middle soul bottom son.
