I have question...I tried searching for this but I couldn't locate it. And the people on here seem to really have their **** together so I ask you this. How do you go about getting the most vibrant color you can, no matter what it is, just strong and bright. I'm currently using RIT, but will hopefully be replacing all my stock with I Dye Poly soon. This is becoming a sore spot for me. My dyes are all good, I hand cut and hand draw, lines are crisp, pictures come out great...but apparently my colors don't pop. I just found out that another guy, a friend of mine, is "redoing" my work I did for a mutual friend....I was unaware of this, and the reasoning is because friend A said he could make my colors better. Nothing against my friends, but to work on another guy's work...that really chafes me. So I want to learn what I'm missing to really start blowing friend A and his "company" out of the water. ;) a lil pay back I suppose. Any help is appreciated

^
I used an acetone based fishing lure on that frog disc a few posts back.
You can get a day-glow kind of chartreuse color on white Star plastic with that stuff.
It seemed to be a bit more vibrant than Rit.
I don't know about the I Dye Poly, though.

To the guys who do muti colors, how do you do it? Do you lay down the black then cover with clear contact then cut the shades out on the disc?

What dye method are you currently using? And what type of discs are you dying?

I personally cut everything at once and paint with rit and laundry detergent. I will occasionally cut on a disc. But I prefer not to. But with dip dying sometimes it is required. If you are dying dark to light such as black-red-orange-yellow. you can just dye them in that order without remasking. If you are dying 2 colors that don't mix like red and blue. You will need to remask the first color before you dye the second color.

I've been lazy lately, but here is tonight's experiment. Z Avenger 'Sunburst'. Imagine a sunburst les paul minus strings and pickups and such being spun around really fast. :D

THAT is sweet DTP! Spin technique?

(yes, I know it's a Strat body below, but the colors are close :) )

^Thanks, Bennett! Yes, it is the box fan spin art style. Thanks for posting the strat body. Now I need to try it again on a yellow disc instead of orange and then I can go back and paint in some wood grain. :D

My son's first try:4bJG41p.jpg
Sharpie job, he's doing a couple of those then working his way into dyes.
Does anyone know of a way to get fleshtones with sharpies or do they make a color that's close?

White star aviar p/a

Depends on whose flesh we're talking about, I suppose...

cartoon yellow, man.

(you're right though, I should have specified ;p )
Was looking for the color of farnsworth, but now you've got me thinking cleveland show.. I know they make that color!
The color someone got with tangerine rit looked close to farnsworth, i may have him just do the rest and then I'll try to hand stain the face.

For all you Saint Arnold fans out there.
This is unfinished though. Saint Arnold likes to put little quips under their bottle caps like "Grin and Beer It" and "Beauty and the Yeast" to name a couple. I'd like to put something beer and disc golf related on the bottom of this one.
Please help me with ideas, all I have is "Friends Let Friends, Putt Drunk"
