"Nose Down"

"Nose down" is a confusing term to me. What is the 'nose'? The "leading" point on the disc is not a constant point. Is the 'nose' a constant point? E.g. if I throw a hyzer (rhbh), is the 'nose' more to the left edge of the disc? Or is it always the most forward point as the disc leaves the hand?

What is "down" relative to? The angle of release? The angle of the ground you're throwing at? Do you actually want it to be "down" or is that a term used merely because the tendency is to throw nose up?

You want to be down. The nose of the disc is the leading edge. You want the to be down at your target.

If you see the top of your disc when it is in the air you are not getting the nose down.

Use the search feature there have been meny threads about this as of late.

I searched ... it didn't narrow anything down.

What part of the disc needs to be nose down for a hyzer flip shot?

I throw RHFH so you have to think of this pic in reverse

This is an awesome thread BECAUSE...

Of the flick-drone-zone signature!!! :hfive:

Well, I'm glad I can supply your jollies for the day ...

On a hyzer flip, the disc is not travelling in 1 direction the entire flight. The leading edge, relative to you, goes from slightly left of center, to center, to right of center, and then back towards left of center.

Do some reading...:wall:

the leading edge of the disc is the one facing your intended target not the one perpendicular with your shoulders.

Let me rephrase that. Nose down is in relation to the direction that the disc is traveling, not in relation to the thrower.

Have you read the article I linked to? It addresses your questions directly.

Yes, the article answered my question. And makes me think everyone else is answering it incorrectly.

Although, it was far too short for my taste. Could have gotten far more in depth about several things.

For anyone who cares about the answer and doesn't want to read the article, the initial nose should be down.

Could someone explain why fun is being poked at me? Inside joke?
