Paige Pierce BIG ace.

This. I do not want to believe it is true for the sole fact that I would never ever be able to come close to something like this. That is amazing.

I walked up to that hole and without blinking threw a forehand layup. Not a hesitation.

Congrats to her!
I felt good about my 1st Ace, after 18 years of playing, and that was on a little pitch & putt course, 108' :/

Since it's blind and to the right with trouble everywhere the distance is still meaningful. The anhyzer she threw has so much room or error.

I don't think you would think that if you stood on the tee pad. The hole almost plays like a par 4 for lower skill levels. I guess having spotters is the difference in this case but I wouldn't dream of throwing for that basket in a tourny without a spotter.

I would agree that it plays about that too. Nonetheless an impressive ace, but not that hard to throw a 150 class nuke 550 feet downhill for all the people that are praising her distance.

that's good distance for women DGers.

I'd bet my dollars to your donuts that your noodle arm cant throw that shot

What does 550' out and 60' down play as? 400'?

Rule of thumb is 10' elevation either way is ~30' on flat ground. So, 60' drop would play 180' shorter, here, 370'.

Again, this is a rule of thumb, so don't read too much into it. I think it's a good estimate in terms of carry, but it is very deceiving in terms of accuracy. That is, just because the carry of the disc makes it play like it's 370' doesn't mean that you're as accurate when you throw 370' as you are when the disc has to actually carry 550'. The control is where the skill comes in.

You try to get that distance with out hyzering out. It is a different skill, the ace is still an impressive feet. Other people on the course could throw every driver in their bag and not end up with in 30 feet of the basket.

Exactly. It's up there for me at least as one of the most intimidating holes on the course. It's an insane degree of difficultly. I would like to see the scores for that hole today.

You've only been playing for .3 years according DGCR. Yeah I believe you could through 550 downhill.

even if the hole plays 400' its an amazing ace, a 400' ft ace on flat ground open is a pretty freakin sweet shot, a 400' blind ace that requires a hard anny through a 30ft tree gap is unbelievably awesome and takes skill that pretty much no one who posts on this board has, except for the resident pros...
