Disc golf replacing football

I'm a Cowboys fan so you know that I'm ready to go play some DG on Sundays........... =-(

I used to build my schedule around when my teams were playing. Then one Sunday I went out for my early morning round and wound up playing all day. Every time I was about to leave I'd run into someone else who wanted to play a round. I haven't looked back since. It does help that I'm a Colts fan and living in Washington.

I never understood the guys who leave the course to go watch the game.
Here is a little explanation to help you understand....

I have been a Bears fan for 34 years while I have only been playing disc golf for +/- 10 years. They were a great team during my early years in the 80's and that helped solidify my interest in the NFL.

From my POV, 16 games + playoffs is a drop in the bucket compared to the time I spend on disc golf over the course of a year.

This is the first year that I couldn't care less about the NFL. I have DGCR to thank for that.

Dont know why you cant have your cake and eat it to. I live 30 minutes from the "Big House" and 115,000 screaming fans on Saturdays in the fall. On my way to the stadium is Waterloo State Rec, Hudson Mills, Independence Lake, Bandemer Park and CJ's Party Store and 4,000 discs.

Nothing better than a 3:30 kick off so I can golf all morning and into the afternoon. Finish up and head over to the tailgate and stuff my face with food and adult beverages before kick off. Might be gone from 8 am to 8 pm, but those are 12 wonderful hours in the fall.

I always play before football starts on Sundays. I want my team to win but it doesn't ruin my day if they don't.

For about ten years I took fantasy football pretty seriously, but it really isn't worth my time and effort. I would always play disc golf over watching football.

last sunday was the first sunday during football season i have not watched football in i dont know how many years, there are 6 other days a week to throw discs during the football season, which only has a full slate of sunday games for 4 1/2 months a year....

I have been subbing disc golf for football on sundays. Notice I'm not getting pissed when my team loses and I get to enjoy the day even if I shoot poorly. Anyone else make this switch? It helps that my team has been sucking

Safe to assume you're a Steelers fan? It could be worse. You could be a Bengals fan like me. I always finish my Sunday rounds before football starts, but I'll definitely attest to any round of disc golf being easier and less stress than watching football for me.

I'm kinda old, so a couple of hours of disc is good for me. That's easy to fit in by 1. It's been so beautiful out around here lately that I've missed about half the kickoffs though.

Course is usually empty around here Sunday mornings. It's pretty sweet.

I'd rather play a sport than watch someone else play. Sometimes, I won't watch TV when I'm home. The "colored boxes" have lost their allure to me.

Yup, screw other people playing their games.

Me playing is 1,000,000 times more important than watching some other jerks.

It's fun at hole 3, after the game, realizing "whoa, I'm drunk!"
Another effect NFL has on my disc golf game
