Best overstable mid

The general DGCR groupthink opinion is that OS mids are unnecessary. The hive mind here thinks that the shots you would use an OS mid for can be covered by powering down your OS driver. But screw those guys. I like a Gator or a Drone every now and then.

The hive mind here thinks we should rediscuss this topic weakly.

FLX Drone. The FLX fly just like Z drone, but can be legally weighted. It has a bit of a beefy rim, which fits my hand perfectly. I am a discraft dis-liker (don't want to say hater) but threw one toss with a drone and was hooked. Tried every non-discraft i could and nothing worked as well.

I use the drone on almost every BH non-anny shot from 285-315. Perfect amount of glide. Throw 20-30' to the right of my target(depending on height), and it flies straight and falls left that 20-30' (assuming i released it flat) Shorter than that I throw my gator, longer or harder fade needed is whippet. If it has to go straighter, or blocked to the right, I'll throw a roc3 or King Cobra. So the Drone has very little overlap. It has minimal skip for me, compared to a powered down whippet that skips a lot. Flys the same in a head wind/tail wind/left wind/right wind, that same straight flight, with 20-30' fade at the end.

Insane Fade? Demon. Not so fast, meathook fade, called the Demon, I mean c'mon. Awesome.

The Demon by gateway. Drone does not feel right in the hand. Demon is essentially the same thing but feels good in my hand.

Why is there a new one of these threads every week lol.

Drone, your welcome.

the hive mind was being sarcastic....

even though the hive mind doesn't carry an OS mid.

;)

I never threw my Drone after trying the Zone.

This. My buddy and I both removed drones from the bag after getting the feel for the Zone. If I need something faster I'll throw either a new DX Roc or a beat DX Gator.

Really OS: M1
Pretty OS: KC Roc
Kinda OS: Roc3, Vector
I'm shocked it took this long for someone to mention either Roc or Vector.
I have been using the Vector, and using a 150g Teebird when the wind would allow me to use a lighter disc. I've been practicing with the Teebird, though, and getting it out there farther, so I decided last night to start using a 150g KC Pro Roc instead.

Obex has beaten out roc and hornet for what i would like in my bag, and you can bet after my next disc purchase, the obex will be in my bag. The hornet is the most overstable, but honestly I find it too overstable. Obex is next, and it's like the center of the oreo, overstable but not too overstable. It flies far, it flies consistent, I really like it. I am very disappointed in my 12x KC pro roc. I've learned how to throw it and it is usable, but it's not overstable. I throw it on hyzer (like I do all mids) and it flips up to flat and then it'll turn at the end. I could already do that with my buzzz ss, but was looking for overstable. Ok, done with my rant again.
