I searched and did not find much on the classic (grid) aviars? I'm looking into getting one and prefer neutral putters. Innova says they are the least overstable version of all the aviars, and was just curious if this truly is the case or if they are just a PnA with a cool stamp lol.

I can't compare them to the P&A, but I have used and abused my grid Aviar for a year now and it is pretty much as stable as when I started using it. The plastic is really durable...at least in the one I got, it is Innova so who knows what the plastic is like now. Mine will turn just a bit on a full power drive and hold it to the ground. On less than full power throw it is very straight. I love it.

That is great news, I've been looking for a floatier/ slightly understable putter for longer and tailwind putts. My wizards have fallen out of favor with me purely because they fade quite a bit on those long ones. Still great for shots in the wind though.

The grid stamp has been put on just about every type of Aviar variant. Currently, I think it's a PnA configuration.

Magics will do what your want

They are stiffer and less overstable than a dx p&a. It is a different mold.

I have tried magics before, but they just feel a little odd to me. Can't put my finger on why that is.

What about warlocks?
I am not trying to that guy that steers you away from what you are asking about
but I think gateways are just better
(I just wish they made something really floppy like vibram soft)

Haha i do like gateway plastic quite a bit. One of the reasons why still like wizards for wind and upshots. There is just nowhere to find them locally, so it's really anybody's guess what they would feel like when I order them. :\

i do have a classic and its like a XD and magic and all the other shallow rims
have held a classic?

how long/far out are we talking here
here is a look at the others with the aviar classic
the warlock and voodoo are less HSS than the classic
(at the beginning of their flight)

I ended up picking up a classic today and think that I will like it. Pretty much holds whatever line I put it on so far, and managed to hit a couple putts from outside the circle with it. We shall see.

i used one for a while really liked it
then switched to XD because thats what my wife was using
now we both use magics

Aviar

I have been playing for 15 years and started out with an Aviar (Back then there weren't many options.) I have tried, feels like every putter out there in every plastic. I still always go back to the classic aviar, but its probably because I've played with the most. I have also learned throughout my years find what you like and stick with it. (Most of the time!)

Does nobody use the Dart anymore? The Dart sounded like exactly what the OP was looking for.

My buddy is a surgeon with a dart. To me it's more of a touch disc than a putter. If you miss the chains it's going to glide forever.

My problem with it exactly. I tried one for a bit, but was frustrated with a long comeback putt if I missed. I prefer to run it at the chains rather than float one out there. This classic seems to be pretty good after a round and a half.

Legacy Clutch may fit your needs, my buddy loves it, I use a Legacy Clozer its a bit more stable than the Clutch

My youngest brother kills me with his R-Pro Dart. He pretty much uses it on every approach shot, and it's money. Plus, it's great to play catch with for warming up before rounds.
