Introducing SD, Salient Discs

Having an ISO certified disc manufacturer is nice to see, but I will hold my skeptical opinion until I have product in my hand. I work with some excellent engineers and operators who were originally in the injection molding business and getting a consistent part is tough, and they weren't making pieces anywhere close to the mass of a disc.

Still, I wish SD the best of luck and I hope they turn out some designs and manufacturing consistency to push the establishment manufacturers to innovate.

1. Consistency run discs with temp, humidity, climate controlled ISO certified injection molding, which includes robotic disc extrusion from the mold as well as exact removal times dramatically decreasing disc flaws (PLH, warping, inconsistent doming).

THIS! This is number one on the list and I love it. We all wish that buying a disc called an "X" would always come out of the store flying like every other "X" in that same plastic. I love certain molds, but finding exact copies of some are difficult as there are one million different Wraiths, Pains, Kings. Mold consistency would be a huge relief for all players.

Very interesting. Good luck on the new venture. I'll probably pick up some of your early runs when you eventually get them out to the market to see what you have to offer!

A larger diameter driver isnt a bad thing, with a larger diameter you can reasonably ascertain that these discs will go further.

I am watching the video "more snap part 2" and the guy (sorry, don't remember the name) tells what would need to be done to increase distance potentiel as the sport moves further (6:33). He mentions that having larger diameter driver could actually increase distance potentiel. Very interesting idea for sure!

When making shoes, don't forget about us really tall guys (size 15). Thanks!

Not to mention those of us who's feed resemble snowshoes (4E width!). I'd buy the hell out of some durable 4E shoes. My Merrells are OK in 2E width, but not really comfortable enough to play multiple rounds on long courses in.

I have been allowed to send some emails for an hour today by the new wifey :) lol so take a look at test run "Prometheis" in Cryo Line plastic that we were throwing for the past month. This is our mid grade plastic pictured. I may post a profile pic here later in the week if I get back on the computer.

Talk to you guys later in the week

sweet, I like the plastic name too. Cryo! Btw chris. I need to talk to you about a few things. email incoming.

Will do, later guys. We will be sending out about 10 tester discs to some guys on the forum in the next couple of weeks.

If you need someone who plays badly to tell you how beginners or injured players perform with them I'm down for lending you my testing services.

That rim width looks massive...maybe it's just the picture.

I want to try one of these bad boys out. Maybe this will put a DD back in my bag.
