[Vibram] Has anyone tried the Vibram putter?

I have the Red and Blue V.P.s. Great little disc. Doesn't fly as straight as my soft magnet. (I putt LHBH so I probably can't help you with flight) I use it for longer "high apex" Anny or Heizer shots. I hit the chains 4 times a few days ago with it from over 40 out. The material it's made out of seems indestructible to me. I'll take a few good pics tomorrow if no one else has.

I've read that the putter is good for 1% of disc golf players, and those players already have a sponsor. It's one of the more expensive putters out there as well. I did buy the mini though:)

Here it is for sale...

As for price it is no more than a better quality (Innova Star for example) disc. Gotta Go Gotta Throw has it for $15.95.

www.PrimeDiscs.com would be the place to buy it...considering prime discs is a major sponsor of the VIBRAM open...i heard its the most overstable putter on the market and doesnt' turn over..dgdave on dgreview swears by them I think...

I've been throwing them for about 6 months now. I am a tester and these have been in my bag since day one.

They are between a wiz and KC Aviar in speed, more overstable than both, and glide about like a KC, maybe a bit less. They are beffy, but I think that's a good thing. They place where they really shine is into a wind. The wind does almost nothing to the disc.

The one thing that's a double edged sword is the durrability. It lasts forever! I have one of the original protos from a year ago and its still freakin stable to slightly overstable! The Summit fills the roll for stable to understable flights for me.

The production run was tweeked a bit from the protos. They are a bit less overstable and a little faster. I haven't got many throws with the production run yet, all I can say is that I wish the Firms were firmer.

They have an understable putter, the Summit, in testing phases now. There is at least one more disc in the works, but its not a definite right now so I don't think I should say. I'm sure there will be more discs in the future.

I'm just going to bump this thread because I'd like to hear more about them. Does vibram plan to make anything besides putters or are they just gonna specialize for awhile?

Biscoe, what was it about the plastic you didn't like?

i can't wait to try the summit when it gets out, i know you'll keep people updated though dave, speaking of the summit have you gotten to throw a proto yet?

Yup and I really like the summits. Its an understable disc. Its faser than the VP, but that's because it doesn't have the huge bead. Its a good compliment because the VPs take as long as CE to break in.

And the word I heard through the grapevine, is the next disc will be a neutral putter between the summit and VP. I've also heard the will branch out to mids and what not, but it will be a bit.

other than the super floppy vp's (which at this point vegan ray owns all of) i find it too slick for the stiffness. the huge bead is also somewhat uncomfortable in my hand. (not a beaded putter guy)

the summit feels better but is too flippy to be useful to me.

they have a long way to go before they move too many aviars or challengers or wizards out of people's bags imo.

oh man that sounds awesome, i'm excited to see/hear more about the new putter their coming with, and i'm guessing the plastic is great because they do make souls for shoes etc.
