This must have been a different visit than when I played Gordon Holton and Twilight Zone with you?

Yes. It was several years ago. I want to say 2009 or 2010. You forgot Alum Creek (which I loved, but I also didn't lose a disc!) on that list by the way. :p

Never been to Flat Rocks! It is the only local course left on my list.

I do dubs on Wed. nights at Flat Rocks. You will love the course. Nice mix of R, L, straight, long, short, wooded, open and elevation..... plus.... brand new baskets and new positions on every hole. Highly recommended.

AllDay had to go home to take care of some daddy (husband) duties before he could re-join us at TZ.

and......I not only didn't lose a disc, but also stayed dry on that hole where y'all went swimmin' :D

 You're absolutely right.

Didn't you throw long on 12(?) and skip into the drink? My memory is obviously bad so hopefully I have that wrong.

^yup! my bad.... I had totally erased that trauma from my short term memory , but thanks for the reminder:\

I really did forget about that...... I was thinking of the one where JayDub went swimming looking for the ones that didn't make it across

Leave it to me to open up healed wounds! :D It was a great throw the way you threaded the needle. Just a little long...

I can't believe those discs disappeared in that tiny area of water. Jay Dub spent a ton of time in the water.

Yeah, but I skipped Alum and met back up with you guys for the 12+ group later.

Apparently the Alum Creek course was just decimated by the State Forestry division. Haven't seen the carnage myself but was told it's devastating ;^(

^ that'd be a shame, it was a pretty good course when I played it back in Sep 2011.

Does this mean I'll only nail a tree on 13 or 14 of the holes instead of all 18?

My last road trip included Lake Shore, Flat Rocks and Hocking College. All solid above 3.5 courses.

What what what?!?!?! Say it ain't so!!! I loved Alum Creek. Did they clear cut or what?

It sounds like it. I'm gonna try to get there this weekend to check it out. Kinda ironic that I was working on another S.P. course when I got the call about this. These park guys are insane

That's a real shame. With the number of courses in the Columbus area, I would think that all the parks departments would at least let the club know when they're going to destroy a course.

I am heading over to Alum in about 30 minutes. I hope the reports are overstated..... That course kicks my butt every time, but I really like it.

I'll report back later....

When did all this happen at Alum? I was there a little over a month ago and all was fine...

There was some relocation of holes that happened earlier this year due to the expansion of the boat ramp and parking areas. Holes #1 and #2 were taken out, a new Hole #1 was added, and the old Hole #1 was modified into a new Hole #18. Also old Hole #9 was replaced by a new Hole #8. All this work was completed months ago and the course was in good shape last time I was there. Certainly not decimated.
