Best one day course tandems

Cincy Area - Idlewild / Lincoln Ridge / Mt. Airy - Any combo of these courses always makes for a great day, IMO.

Georgia - Any 2 of the 3 IDGC Courses - Or play all 3. My ideal roadtrip.

Nashville - Cedar Hills / Seven Oaks - Two great courses.

Charlotte - Renny / Nevin - This would be my personal choice to play in this area.

I woke up at dawn one day and played De La V then drove for a really long time and caught a sunset round at Whistlers Bend. It was a nice way to bookend too much time in the rig.

Locally I'm thinking of the following...

Rotary Park & Indian Rock - Huntington, WV
Little Creek & Redeemer - Charleston, WV
Seth Burton & Orange Crush - Fairmont, WV
Armco White & Armco Blue - Ashland, KY
Moundsville Black & Yellow - Moundsville, WV
Veteran's & Mountwood - Parkersburg, WV

I have a road trip developing where I travel to Bowling Green, KY although I'll likely play more than two courses out over the course of a few days! Any thoughts on the best courses in that area?

As already mentioned several times, it's tough to beat Idlewild/Lincoln Ridge. Though I must say, any combination of Idlewild, Lincoln Ridge, Osage Grove, and Mt. Airy would be pretty awesome.

Other favorites of mine would be:

SeaTac and Lakewood King Co. in the Seattle area. (Literally about 5-10 minutes apart)

Condon Park (Grass Valley) and Hanging Oaks (Penn Valley) in the Tahoe foothills. You could even add Harmon Park 9-hole in Brown Valley as a bonus.

Belmont and Handyman Ace Hardware in Dayton, OH is a pretty solid mix of old school park style course and a newer semi-technical course respectively.

Bailey DGC and Beaver Ranch/Conifer Park was an awesome pair of Rocky Mountain foothill courses. (As a twosome my bro-in-law and I couldn't get on at Phantom because it was a weekend and Paulie only takes foursomes on weekend. Pretty great "consolation" if you ask me.)

In the NE Ohio area, I'm a fan of Arboretum-Spiker + Lincoln Park-Oak Ledges

I just played these two this week. Give yourself enough time to play Lincoln Park-Oak Ledges twice then head over to Arboretum-Spiker. Have lunch at mulliganscanton.com in the Belden Village. The Flat Iron steak for $11 is off the hook.

Here in western Washington we have a couple cool potential combos
NAD park/Fairgrounds/Bud Pell (all three are about 15 min drive from each other)
Lakewood/Seatac
Fort Steilacoom NW/SE ( the Steilly courses differ enough in terrain to feel like 2 autonomous courses)
White River/ Riverside
Since these are all within 10 to 45 minutes from home they don't really feel like " trips" just a regular day

Rotary Park & Indian Rock - Huntington said:
I played a tandem/tandem of both Huntington courses in the early day then drove over and played both Armco courses that evening. Long day! Indian Rock is a physical play. My personal fav of the four was Rotary. Gorgeous setting.

I'm surprised the IDGC isn't getting more run in this thread.
34 posts and only two shout outs.

So many great courses in this area. Personally I prefer the Renny & Charlottes Web combo.

Only played Nevin once and I aint gonna lie...it kicked the sh*t out of me. I need to get back to it and see if it was just a bad day out or if that course is really as brutal as I remember.

Tahoe twofers:
Turtle Rock and Kirkwood
Bijou and Zephyr Cove
Tahoe Vista and Sierra College
Some of my roadtrip favorites:
Iron Hill and Tyler
Whistler's Bend and Dexter
Hornet's Nest and Renny
Silver Creek and Rollin Ridge
Deer Lakes and Moraine
The Socal double:
Coyote Point and Sky High
Norcal doubles of note:
Stafford Lake and Napa
Golden Gate Park and Delaveaga
Condon Park and Penn Valley
Peregrine Point and Black Butte Lake

From my experience, the Whippin' Post and Woodshed combo is excellent. I just won't go there unless I have 6 or more hours to really get to take it all in. Both are very tough and long (for me anyway).

Orange Crush and Seth Burton offer a very interesting contrast. OC is one of the toughest, and most grueling, courses that I have played. Seth Burton, on the other hand, is basically a nice walk in the park.

Whispering Falls and the new Ditto Farms will be an awesome combo once Ditto is finished.

New Quarter is very solid and can be paired with any of several other VA Beach area courses... Newport News, Bayville and Munden Point to name a few. New Quarter will probably be the highlight for you.

The two Woodland Valley courses in Maine might not be as challenging as most of the others I have mentioned, but they're still a lot of fun in one location. Plus they're adding another 18 that's supposed to be more challenging. And the clubhouse is sweet.

I absolutely loved Idlewild. I will definitely keep Lincoln Ridge and others in mind if I make it back.

And finally, I really need to hit the Pittsburgh area and Fredericksburg area courses soon. I just need to set aside the time.... All day.

Dorey is probably as close to New Quarter as the courses in VA Beach and a lot better.

Hawk Hollow/Blockhouse would be most people's tops in VA though. I personally would probably choose Hawk Hollow and Loriella Long. IMO Loriella Long to Long is under-rated.

Woodshed/Whipping Post is always fun too.
