So the other day I picked up a Pro Beast. Today I went to a local course and on the very first throw ever with it it ended up in the water. I went right in after it but it was too muddy and I couldn't see anything. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be with me and that Beast. I know people go in that water looking for discs all the time if they lose them so hopefully someone will find mine and give me a call.

This ever happen to anyone else out there? If so, were you lucky enough to ever get the disc back?

It was actually my second shot with an ESP Buzzz I got at the beginning of the summer...but the first shot was just practice. This was my first real shot...I just wanted to grip it and rip it to see what it could do....I ended up rolling the sh*t out of my rest, giving it a ridiculous annie, and watching it land on top of a little ampitheatre on #2 at Red Rocks....I never got it back and went straight back to Rocs as I considered the Buzzz cursed...it took some hard convincing from the guy at the disc store to get me to buy another Buzzz....now I'm so glad I did, I'm not looking back...

A few years back I lost an MRV on my first throw with it in a round. I also lost my first fly-dyed disc on its second or third throw (can't remember exactly). Sucky feeling but I just chalk it up to it wasn't meant to be.

I lost the very first through I ever made! Was a red dx leopard and I didn't know about putting my name and number on it.

Nice screen name...I used to have a band named Home Brew...

Lost a 10x KC Pro Eagle-X that I'd gotten off ebay on my first ever throw of it on The LINKS #6.

This supports my argument of going to the practice field and test flying your discs before you hit the course with them.

No that just proves that bad luck hits everyone no matter how hard you practice. Plus in Eric's case, I'm pretty sure he has practiced enough at the Links to trust what he is doing.

You and I need to go play that course one day. I think the whole day would be -Dragon, Hydra, Dragon , Hydra.

I did that once with the old Innova Dolphin. It was a floating disc. Pulled it out on a water hole and it floated alright, right out there where I couldn't get to it. First throw.

Holy sh*tballs you've lost a lot of discs on that course. Now I don't feel so bad about all the discs I've lost at the Galloway Hammond course.

i had a friend that griplocked three brand new bosses 50' into the middle of the lake on hole 1 at south vineland. he did that all in a row. he just laughed and said it was cheaper than a round of ball golf

I was very close to this, stuffed it into the woods pretty bad (my fault not the disc, just let go too soon) and we spent a long time looking for it. We found it!

Two weeks later it was my favorite disc! (and I promptly threw it into a terrible water hazard...)

so i joined PDGA and they sent me my minnie with my # on it and a PDGA logo stamped stratus. well i went to the beach on a family trip and my mom was asking me how to throw a disc. i got out that brand new never thrown stratus, i throw RHBH so i went down near the water to throw up the beach away from the water, and tossed it. wow that thing went straight up the beach and then decided to turn over on me and went right into the ocean. yup gone, oh and did i mention it was black.

Actually, I've lost some in the practice field. In fact, When I got my PDGA membership disc, an ESP Stratus, It was late at night, and I was just learning the roller. So I went out into our schools intramural field, and launched a roller. The only problem was that it went much further than expected. Straight into some Bushes. I searched for an hour that night and woke up early to search the next morning. Never found it. One throw with it. It was black too, so that didn't help much.

Seriously. I'm afraid to throw mine, too.

On the 1st throw? OUCH!

That sucks!
Lost an elite X flydye Xpress the 2nd time I threw it, but I haven't lost one on it's maiden voyage.

Lost a champ fly dye boss the third time I threw it. It took a hard turn and went into the drink. While looking for it I found a champ wraith and a fly dye beast so it worked out ok.

My first throw with a brand new dark red Star Valk (my first and only) went way far left into a field of full grown soybeans. I usually practice with my new discs to get a feel and to break them in, but for some reason I didn't with that one and paid the price. I prefer SE and Pro Valks anyways so no big deal. My name wasn't on it, so I hope I made somebody else's day when they found it while looking for their errant throw!!!

Funny you mention that because I lost two discs the other day in a practice field although I did find them today.
