Was that the best finish to a tourney you've seen? Man those guys were killing it.

Ricky went toe to toe with the Champ, but fell short. I hope these guys bring the same next year in my backyard!

I knew how it ended, but watching the footage was STILL a nail-biter. As my buddy was saying, this final 9 proved that disc golf is a game of perfection whereas ball golf is about making the fewest mistakes. Ricky had one bad hole in the final 9 and playoff and still lost. All the credit in the world to McBeast!!

I'd like to state again that I really liked all the late action and final 9 being at the same course. I knew it pretty well by the time I watched the final 9 which greatly increased the drama.

It is a well designed course with a lot of clear risk-reward but NOT a lot of random trees in the middle of the fairways. From what I saw there was very little "bad luck" available. So kudos again to Dave Feldberg on the course design.

And Kudos to the Stumptown Disc Golf Club who actually did all of the work to build, install and maintain it after Feldberg left town.

+1 all of his whining was a bit out of line, but pretty unsurprising, I really don't like playing blue lake personally but I think it worked very well for this event.

I disliked the end and wish it was Sudden death instead of Aggregate playoff. Both players were playing so well it just felt like it was too soon to call a world champ after the last 9.

Great course, and great players. The game was amazing to watch, the power and risk reward of the different players was just a joy to watch.

With all of the bickering about how or why ricky lost, I think most people have overlooked the obvious. Last hole of the semifinal, he dropped a couple shots, and you could just see the Beast's posture change. I think that final9 is a lot different without that. Give all credit to the Beast, he got his opportunity and took full advantage of it.

I was there, and I saw some amazing golf.

Let me first say, i've never even seen a tournament above a few local "c" tiers, so to see the best players in the game battling it out was something special for me. One of the most surprising things to me was that I was able to follow some of the top cards on the earlier rounds, with only a small handful of other folks.

I followed the top 2 FPO cards at Milo E and W both rounds on friday, The MPM round at Blue Lake on thurs., The MPO top 3 cards at Trojan on wed., parts of both MPO and MPM semis on sat. at Blue, MPM final 9, MPO final 9 and the playoff. I was just in awe of the whole experience and the galleries on saturday were amazing.

I saw first hand some of the highlight moments that have been talked about over on the other thread (which ended up getting ridiculously side-tracked).This was an experience I won't soon forget. If anyone on here has a chance to get to Worlds, even if only to spectate, just do it.

Yeah, really only on bad throw…

Thank you for pointing this out Matt B. The club has done an immense amount of work to make Blue Lake a world class course. Sadly, rather than give these volunteers kudos for their hard work, all Feldberg did was bitch and moan about the few changes we were forced to make to his initial design. Disappointing indeed, but expected.

Wrong. It was sudden life.

Mind blown

I really wish they had captured the round leading into the final 9 after McBeth was 6 down to Ricky and everyone was saying it was over? I was out playing during that round! :( Really wanted to see how he came back from that. I can't complain though the coverage was awesome and watching the DGPlanet coverage I was riveted. It was an amazing match. The putts that McBeth had to make were intense to say the least. All around great stuff.
