[Westside] Seer

I look forward to throwing the Seer - sounds like the Diamond or the River, lots of distance for not a lot of effort.

Would you say it has lots of glide?

Also, how heavy is yours? I'm wondering if mid 160s would be a good weight for this.

It has a good amount of glide but doesn't have that glidey look while in the air that the River or Warship has. Mine is 166 for reference. I'd be curious to see how a max weight handles.

I also am going to try and reach out to Westside for clarification on their intended flight ratings. DD put that heir literature out for it with -2/1 but the disc is printed with -1/2. Wonder which is the misprint.

This is the kind of disc that's right up my alley. I'm already carrying (and loving) FDs, Rivers, and Diamonds though so not really sure where this fits in as I'm already covered and them some on neutral to understable fairways.

I keep clicking refresh over and over on the Noodle Arm site but can't find the detailed review yet to help me decide :p

Wait a minute, now the Westside webpage says 7,5,-2,1 but the picture on the webpage shows the disc with the numbers 7,5,-1,2....
The local retailer called Westside today to clear this up; 7 5 -1 2, IIRC, is a proto stamp with only 1000 pcs produced (not sure if this includes both language versions). Production stamp will have 7 5 -2 1 and they've run several thousand of these already.

Haha appreciate the support! It's been raining here so the full review will probably come next week after I've had more time with it.

Thanks! This makes more sense on the numbers, for sure. Explains why it holds an anny or a turn so nicely.

It is a fairly congested slot, but that usually doesn't stop me from trying out new discs :)

I havent really clicked with a trilogy workhorse fairway driver yet. The Felon gives me anything to the left and Warship sews up the right side for me. The Truth gobbled up the straight fairway work like a champ, so not much call for straight flying control fairways.

What I could really use, and never had with Trilogy is a versatile line shaping fairway like a Leopard. (other things I tried were moonshine Underworld, TP Hatchet.)

So what's up with the different flight numbers? Are the protos actually different than the stock disc in any way other than the stamp?

No difference between proto and stock, considering there haven't been any changes in the mold. Maybe someone threw the thing nose up during initial tests :|

lol, ya, apparently Westside has their plastic tested by either a disc golf god with the cleanest form known to man - you know, the kind of omnipotent being who can get a sorcerer out 400+ without turning it (hence assigning 13/6/0/2 flight numbers) or they have hired a noodle arm who is throwing these things 200'.

or maybe their tester has a really bad nose up problem like you said. :)

On paper, this was my holy grail unicorn disc. Turned out to be just another Tern in my expansive stable of Terns. Traded.

I can get a nice variety of lines with Rivers and Saints, in various degrees of wear and weights.

ya, it is exactly another Tern. I like the graphic better though. I throw a bright pink max weight VIP that flies pretty similar to my moonshine trespasses (slightly more LtR movement) when Im throwing near ground cover. Otherwise Ive moved on. Great disc for anyone who wants Champ Terns with a different stamp though.

@MonkeyPaws - River might work for me if the Seer doesnt. I keep thinking about trying one. The (175g recycled) Saint and (175g lucid) Saint Pro I have are pretty much dead straight for me. I can put 'em on lines, but I cant shape an s-curve with 'em like I can with a Leopard.

My main River is a 164 gold line, it has a lot of turn, but always fades out at the end, even on an anny.

Heavier Optos are actually stable flyers for my power that will beat into some turn, but again, keep the fade.

Cool. thats exactly the flight path I'm looking for in a fairway. light weight gold line River will go in my next order if the Seer doesnt hold the spot. tyty.

just ordered one (tp) from dgc. picked up a swan 1 reborn (zero soft) as well. can't wait to throw them both!

I don't know why they would release another under stable fairway driver. They need a flat over stable driver like the Trident or Felon. If they had it a person could actually throw all Westside.

That is a fine observation that has also been made by others.

At least they did an overstable mid this time (Bard.)

More puzzling is that the Sampo is reportedly going to be understable as well, at least if you believe 3rd hand comments on DGCR.

ya.. I am a little skeptical about what I'm going to be able to do with a bunch of understable plastic in the trilogy challenge.. can I use last year's discs in this year's challenge? :)

also, sweet underworld in the profile pic!
