[Legacy] Legacy Discs Phenom

Have you thrown one?

Nope, all we have to go by so far is the video with rico crushing them. Sponsored Legacy player made a comment on FB that they are "Very Straight" and others said: "So straight that it's almost stupid", "Went about 70 feet past my special blend rival and legend patriot", "Laser beam straight with little to no fade on a flat throw", etc..

Sounds like a fun disc that will break into a good turnover for the longer shots, im excited.

Side-by-side with an Icon Patriot, my guess is that the tops are identical and the wing is where the difference comes into play. The Phenom has a nearly straight underside to the wing. Hopefully these pics show what I'm talking about.

I've posted this the in Nemesis thread, but I wanted to put it here too since it came up here.

Sparkle Nemesis is being released to retailers as a fundraiser for 2015 PDGA Amateur World Championships in Kalamazoo Michigan.

Flight #s are 10/6/-4/2

So yeah as the credible source said...understable :D

Those are some pretty unique numbers. What's the closest comp you think?

From what I hear about the flight and the profile I've seen - it seems to be like a seasoned Orc. I'm not sure there is really anything like it at that speed range. Definitely curious to try it.

Excited about the Phenom, but i probably wont even buy a Nemesis now that the numbers are out.. why do they keep making flippy stuff.

Are you talking about the Nemesis or the Phenom?

I'm not sure what the numbers are on the Phenom, but from what I've gotten in so far my impression is that it's very much like a Champ Sidewinder, but slower speed. Icon is definitely more stable than the Legend run. These power down nicely for a woods tunnel shot that ends left (rhbh). Headwind plays with these, but they still fade back some at the end. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say 7/5/-3/2...hard to say, but ZJ's analysis of it being a side-to-side mover is spot on.

Hey everyone, I played in a Battle of the Aces this last weekend and wanted to share my impression of the Phenom so far. I used a red icon 174 and a slime legend 174 Phenom in the battle. These things are so straight it's awesome! I had so many close calls with it in the race. It can handle some power but does have some turn to it once you crank it up so you need to adjust accordingly when you throw it. I've taken them both out and used them in a casual round and loved them for longer fairway shots that needed to finish straight or to the right (with rhbh). I've bagged both of mine and will be picking up some more as backups. Great job Legacy!

Finally got my hands on the Gunmetal Legend Phenom and Red Icon Phenom this weekend!

So far only threw the Gunmetal one though, the red one didn't have a stamp so i set it aside for a dye job.

A longer Patriot is a perfect description for these, very straight out of the box and def not flippy. Excited to have this in the bag as a longer line holder for drawn out hyzers, straight and anny lines, will compliment the Firebirds well. I saw a post on FB about the release of the Enemy "coming soon" too, so i cant wait to put that up against the Firebird.

Excited to see if production runs or future pinnacle runs yeild some beefy "freaks" that are more like a longer rival :D

We have a Battle coming up in September - think I'll play. This disc looks pretty sweet.

My two sense on Nemesis, I have a gold sparkle. It flies a LOT like my tern, but a little slower, and a little easier to control. I can get some easy distance with it, esses, and nice straight down the pipe shots. I will be trying out a Phenom and a Prowler tomorrow! Can't wait!

Threw the Phenom yesterday - very nice. It has enough fade to fight out of an anny release. Seemed like a slightly shorter Saint to me, very comfortable to throw.

Had a red Icon, and a gorgeous purple disc, looked like gold line from Lat 64, I assume legend.

Anybody care to weigh in on different colors how they fly? Options for Legend Phenom seem to be Gunmetal, Lime and Purple, has anyone thrown all three, anything noticeable stability differences for instance between them?

Can't compare within plastics, but the Purple legend was more stable than the red icon fwiw.

Legend Gunmetal was about the same as Red Icon for me, in fact it broke in faster and is less stable than Red Icon already.
