Mid range diving right

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone had any tips on getting more distance with mid ranges. I love my mid ranges and love to drive with them. But driving with them is very inconsistent for me. When I'm approaching my mids do exactly what I want them to. Driving is a different story. Sometimes they flex sometimes the fly up and die sometimes they hyzer and a lot of the time they dive right. Can someone tell me why and the proper way to throw a mid range far?

Sounds like you may just need to step up to a more overstable mid when driving since your putting more power and torque on the disc.

Without mentioning what mids you're throwing, it sounds like you need to clean up your form.

Assuming you're throwing RHBH...

Fly up and die = nose up
Dive right = major OAT
Flex = less OAT
hyzer = probably throwing it somewhat clean but not getting enough snap on the disc to make it fly straight

with the varying flight patterns described it sounds like form and consistency issues more than anything else. without knowing what mold(s) you are throwing I humbly offer the following suggestions:

step 1) pick up an ESP Comet.
step 2) use it until you can make it do what you want it to do, consistently.

keep in mind that a Comet will not mask any form problems, quite the opposite in fact, so be prepared for some tough love.

Yes RHBH roc 3 180g shark3 177g San Marino star roc 175g and a discraft wasp 177g

Yeah, almost certainly a form issue. Quite possibly a grip issue, too. Those discs should not be diving right on you unless they are thrashed beyond recognition.

I am using the same grip as my drives and my form is a work in progress. It's gotta be my form since I am still working on my drives and trying to find the correct form to crush the disc. I'm gonna work on it.

What are some good over stable mid ranges?

You already have a Wasp. About 10 other people are on their way to tell you this, but forget about overstable mids for a while. Practice with neutral and understable mids to work on your form. Something overstable is only going to mask what the problem is. If you can get a neutral or understable mid to fly straight, you'll know you're on the right track. Take a stack out with you to a field, and don't leave till they're flying nicely.

If you're using a power grip, you might try switching for your mids to the Climo grip -- index and pinky under the rim, middle and ring fingers sort of stacked and touching the other fingers and flight plate.

Sounds good I tend to throw all my drives on an anhyzer angle so I think I'm doing the same to the mid ranges. Swing my arm around my body instead of swinging my body around the disc. I will practice when I am a free man in about 4 hours. Thanks for your help! Keep the tips coming! I went from 100' stall outs and no accuracy to 250-275' accurate shots in about 3 weeks all thanks to the advice I have received from the great people on this forum. Addiction has set in and I will not stop until I get it down.

All of these disc are pretty stable and shouldn't be going right for you.

It sounds as if there's something different in your throwing mechanics when you do a run up and full throw. This is quite common.

Try simplifying or eliminating your run up. Slow everything way down and be as smooth as possible. When you start getting the discs to fly correctly, you can gradually reintroduce the run up.

That explains a lot. It's useful to be able to do an annhyzer, but you don't want that to be your default throw. Work on those hyzers and flat/slight hyzer releases, and you will be amazed at how quickly things fall into place.
