Sticky and replace the 2017 thread?
Searched & couldn't find if anyone has started this yet this year.

...at any rate, we have a local player who hit 20 aces last year (including on four consecutive days in April!). He gained some well-deserved notoriety for it, and offered to run a year long ace pool where we'll tally our aces, total distance, and abide by some restrictions (only five under 200' will count, all must be witnessed, etc.)

I'm the third local in the competition to hit an ace, even though mine was just the 135' hole 9 at Woodland Mound today, but I'm on the board! :p

Yeah, I refuse to believe all that.

My only post in this thread will be now telling everyone that I've been throwing for 20 years and only have 1 ace to my name from 2007.

I've had one in 7.5 years. It was on a 90ft hole five years ago, lol...

I just got my second ace in 18 years! It was only 150' (hole 9 @ Paseo Vista), but threw a soft Proxy through a double mando for the ace. Guess I'll be waiting quite a while for my next one! It was fun, but don't know if that is one to brag about. I just kinda shrugged, lol.

No. Just a casual round after work with my buddies. Don't even know what a pancake round is.

It's a weekly they do there on Sunday mornings.

If you get a chance go check out Deep Creak Dreams in Burlington for there Sunday random dubs at 1:00. Awesome course and super great people. Ross Davis is the owner of this private course and the nicest guy you'll meet

Now I know what you are talking about. My buddy Chris Hensler (witnessed my ace on 8) runs that event.

I have been to Deep Creek and have met Ross. Another buddy used to play there a bunch.

I don't play any kind of organized disc. Just not into it. I used to have stress and anger issues when I was competitive. Now, I rarely if ever, even keep score. Disc golf is my happy place so I mitigate all negative vibes. Plus I don't have the patience to play long rounds.

Just got my 1st ace of 2018 today and my 8th overall. Hole 13 in the 180ft short position at Wills Park. I aced it with same disc in the spring of 2016... a dark marble-gray 750 PA4.

I throw mostly Innova, but 4 of my aces now have been evenly shared between this PA4 and a Proto M1. They're my only discs with more than 1 ace on them. Maybe I should start throwing more Prodigy...

Played a solo round today because the rain held off. Aced hole 2 at Woodland Mound without a visual witness. Two others on the course heard it. :)
Later chained out on hole 9. Finished with 40 throws for 18 holes... it's only the Mound, but a fun round!

I think over the years I have hit chains on no2 at least a dozen times. No aces... At least you don't have to watch what happens since its a blind shot lol... I cant hardly stand going there anymore. The teepads are so bad...

The last time I was there I blew right thru no10 basket with my crave... I am cursed

You're absolutely right about the tee pads. Four decades old asphalt is the worst: slick when wet, icy, muddy, damp, and even powdery dry! Now half the baskets seem to have some tilt to them, as well. I know you play tougher courses (with better pads), but mostly, those come on lower-percentage ace runs. I'm closest to the Mound and Amelia, so it's either these, or ruts for tee pads. Happy to get out to Williamsburg and Osage Grove when I can. Daylight is returning!
Hang in there and keep 'em flying Brock. You'll probably hit an ace, and then have them come in a quick batch soon!

Between the trees or around? I messed up and went thru the trees and it went in!

That hole I throw left of the big tree on a slight anny (rhbh). You might be thinking of Winton #11 with the quad trees. I've hit that one once each way. :)

1st Ace of 2018, at Coker College DGC, Hole #2- 180ft Par: 3. I hit it with my Innova Roadrunner that I won at the 2014 East Coast Island Fest Toss. It's a 167 weight, and normally holds a straight line, so I thought I would try it.

2nd Ace of 2018, at Coker College DGC, Hole #6- 216ft Par: 3. I hit with my brand new Dynamic Disc Renegade that I purchased only a few days prior. It's a 171 weight, and my kids even asked me to hit them a hole in one, I responded with "i don't think that's gonna happen, but okay."
