You know you're addicted to DG when...

"Sorry Im stuck at work. Probably going to be a couple extra hours....I know my boss really is pushing these deadlines"

...casually walks in the house with dirt still on shoes...

I got divorced a couple years ago and recently my ex wife and I got back together. I played lightly before and really really heavily after. We have 2 kids together who spent every evening and overnight with me. When my gf (ex-wife) came out last weekend to play disc golf with us and my 7 year old birdied a 200 foot hole and it took the gf 5 throws to get into putting distance...........ahhhhhh disc golf dad pride :)

When you have a bad dream about meeting a player whose been down on his luck and fully and explicitly admits he is selling his disc stock to help pay for booze to drink himself to death, so you end up buying two discs with Batman dye jobs on them for $30. Then you wake up and feel guilt ridden about what you just did to an imaginary being in your subconscious state.

^
And oh yes, I wish I was making that up.

When you see someone you haven't seen in ages they ask the question "What do you do?" and instead of mentioning work you immediately blurt out "DISC GOLF!"

Great lego DG Juke, can't believed I missed it's original airing.Funny JTRACY LOL! That reminds me of an episode of that 70's show. Kirkwood Smith(The dad) is currently unemployed and has to go to his wife's company Christmas party. A guy walks up to he and his wife and asks him "So, what do you do?", meaning for a living of course. He says "About what?" Guys laughs and says "seriously, what do you do?". Again and louder he says "About what?" Embarrassed of unemployed I guess but hey, happens to lots of people. You have to see it to understand the humor and to know the actor and the character he played, yet I only saw a few episodes of the show. Just a funny answer to the question "So. what do you do?

When someone says to you "Nice shoes" and you say "Don't nice me dude, that always ruins my shoes." Always in that Disc Golf frame of mind....... like most of us.

...you put on your fall/winter "I usually only wear this to the office" jacket for the first time since April, and find a mini in the pocket.

When your backpack bag doubles as your school bag, albeit, the only thing you're carrying for schoolwork are writing utensils, some scratch pad, thumb drive, maybe a calculator, potentially a paperback or two.

... when you avoid the place that has the best selection of discs in stock

coz I know if I go in there, I'm not coming out with nothing...

I would say any pro shop or PIAS. The only time I go to either is when I'm walking out with a disc. And I don't even care if it's base line plastic.

I appropriate $20/month for disc golf and another $20 for fun. Sometimes I combine the two and borrow from my food budget.

You know you are addicted when you lurk on this site every spare minute you aren't playing dg.

Haha! I imagine you're talking about D-mart? Just wait til you see the hardware store down in Noble... also a good course to try, though it's also easy to lose discs.

Make it easy on yourself. When you decide you actually want to buy a disc, head on in and feel a few. Then try to see if you can make it out with only one or two.

For the thread:
...when abundance or lack of good disc golf courses is a significant factor in seeking/accepting job positions in a given geographic area.

When you sustain an injury at work or home and your first thoughts are can I throw or thank God its not my throwing arm or hand.

This would definitely be in my criteria for a move. No two ways about it.
