Hey guys,

I thought it might be nice to give the site a little refresh since the site is still sporting pretty much the same look it started with back in the day. Unfortunately frontend development isn't really my forte. I'm not sure that backend development is either but that's besides the point :D It's honestly a pretty big task as the site has a LOT of different pages so I'd imagine this would take a little while if it ever happens.

That said, someone in another thread suggested putting this request out there so here it is :) If anyone is good at this kind of thing and interested in volunteering because you're a kind soul, bored or just looking to build a portfolio piece, etc. please send me a PM. I would love to hear your thoughts!

I gave you a perfectly good redesign 8 years ago. I'm feeling a little ignored, Timg. :\

If anyone takes me up on the offer I'll be using that as the starting point of any work that happens.

I asked the only "computer guy" I knew and he doesn't do web design, etc. Not his area of expertise. Sorry.

Tim,
I'm overwhelmed with work at the moment, and probably will be until long after this is done; otherwise I'd love to help. If you're still looking, I can mention it to my colleagues though. Are you interested in using any specific frameworks?

If you're willing to let an amateur help out, I'm willing to see if I'm getting in over my head.
I've written a few simple personal, not published, web pages. I know the absolute basics of web design and am always willing to teach myself more

Not really, I'd ideally love to redesign the site to something more modern looking and am open to ideas, suggestions, etc. Right now it's all just a homebrew thing I made and have added onto over the years.

I appreciate the offer as I'm an amateur myself, haha. I think what I'm hoping to get done might be over both of our heads though.

My humble suggestion is to leave it the way it is. I can't imagine a way to make it operate better than it does. If you are just wanting a more modern look maybe try some updated skins vs. a complete change.

Perfect example is Marshall Street and Disc Golf Center. I find their new "modern" formats incredibly hard to use, and I buy from them less frequently as a result. But maybe I am a luddite.

I'm not looking to change the way the site works, just update the look or change the skin as you say. Problem is, it's a pretty big job now that you have to account for phone, tablets, PCs, etc.

I know when you see something every day for years, it can become stale and feel outdated, but as a new member here I really like the look and feel of this forum.

I think dark themes are a bit overdone these days, and flat UI turns my stomach.

So, I saw a few people respond, and then you said Crickets Chirping. I'm assuming that meant they didn't actually have time after all?

I'm a full-stack developer, but only been doing this about a year. I'd love to contribute a couple hours a week to it, but can't spare much more than that.

I'm mainly a server-side developer with a little JS/CSS, but I'd be willing to help convert pages to a new design.

Just noticed these two new posts, I think it would be quite a large task to give the site a new coat of paint. I have a rough image of a desktop design but that's about it. Server-side, the code probably wouldn't change much so it would be mostly JS/CSS type work if I had to guess.
