[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Part VI)

Channeling Calvin, I guess I'm a forehand guy now. I probably have a half dozen backhand throws available per round before the discomfort takes over, but the forehand is slowly coming into its own. I'm even starting to see some more consistent success shaping FH anhyzers where needed. Hex/Reactor and Crave/Servo and Inertia/Wave were getting it done straight and neutral this morning. I have a CN Wave in the low 160s that was absolute money off the tee. First time out with the Plasma Crave which I'm rather smitten with. I can't throw the Proton or Neutron FH to save my life, but this felt quite comfortable. I do need to put at least one Electron Proxy back in for more float on the upshot. As frustrating as this adjustment's been, I'm coming around to the challenge: it's not unlike first learning to play where you start sorting out what everything does and anticipate rather than react t the course.

which mvp P&A, is low profile / flight, like the innova xd?
thanks!

A check of disc stats shows that none of the MVP/Axiom discs with similar flight characteristics have a rim depth that shallow. They all run 1.5 cm to XD's 1.1 cm.

My first golf disc ages ago was an XD. Of the MVP putters I use, I reckon the Atom is akin to a shorter XD, the Ohm is a bit longer and more stable, and the Spin less stable. I use them on shots that I would have used the XD years ago.

Decided to revisit mvp for fun after lizotte signed on. Haven't thrown mvp in a long time, I believe last was when they didn't have anything faster than a volt or shock.

For the most part doing a Simon bag, but still putting with my pa3s

Glitch, hex, crave, volt, Tesla, trace, defy, and octane. The dimension was too uncomfortable for me.. halo boss feels better. Otherwise the other discs all feel great. Might try a panic for windy days here in Colorado.

That's a pretty solid bag selection... have you been in the gyro closet all this time? :D ... waiting to come back? We accept you$

Who else out there is digging the rhythm? It's kind of meh, but always a good decision. Just decent, reliably decent. Outstanding in its mediocrity just flying that line.. Ain't no big thing. Just hanging on the fairway like it's a 7-11.

Tried one Rhythm and really liked it but the flight was similar enough to a beat S-FD that it didn't make the bag.

I'd throw it in an all gyro bag.

Played WR Jackson this past weekend and it's just astounding how the pros can make it look like a standard par 3 course in terms of effort and execution. Very fair course but long and seemingly always uphill. Inertia did yeoman's work when I needed to pull out the backhand. Had forgotten how good that disc can be flipping up gently and carrying a controlled line.

From all the reports I've heard, the stock run came out about as stable as a Hokom Crave, so I just haven't bothered picking on up since I've already got the Crave in that spot for my bag.

I don't speak craveish... does that mean they are less stable? I heard the hokoms are flip machines, I think. Also if you have something in that ballpark a decent selection of runs of relay/crave/rhythm would all cover the same bases. I've got a flatter 170g dfx mandala one coming to try against the other 170g domey's and my 160g se flatty..

Kind of hoping for a little extra stability HSS.

Has the DFX disc been publicly announced yet? I thought it was still a secret.

But yeah, the Hokom Craves are usually the least stable so far. I don't buy into the idea that plastic affects stability, but that each run has its own stability. That being said, so far, the first run of Hokoms were a little less stable than Relays, but the current runs are just a tick more stable or about the same, whereas the newest Plasma Craves fly more like patent pending Craves. I'd say current Hokoms are similar to the old Inspires, and current Plasma are similar to a slightly beat in Teebird.

I'm more interested in the Soft Neutron Hex as far as the Hexes being released go. Plasma plastic is pretty, but also pretty meh in the hand.

The R2 Eclipse Glitch though. That's going to be awesome. Also, Soft Proton returns, and in a Soft Proton Prism Envy. That might be awesome.

Prism Plasma Hex coming. Don't need but do want.

I will be wanting, anything Plasma it seems I just can't go wrong. Envy, Pyro, Crave, Servo, Insanity, picked up an Inertia last week, Wave, and Orbital. My next order will be Photon, Motion, and Entropy. Would like to spend some time with a recent Neutron Mayhem pickup for heavy wind play, maybe when that Hex comes out, I'll be ready to pair it with a Plasma Mayhem on the same order.

Hey Nova, why did you start your video in the shower? I don't care if you're Brad Pitt or Beyonce I don't want to see that in a disc golf video.

I turned it off.

Please review molds (everyone!!!!! Not just Nova) without a shower and I'll happily watch and give input.

I'm sure they will be beautiful but I'm honestly not even tempted. My Hex cup runneth over between the heavy fission and Lizotle. I have backups as well as neutrons. I wonder if jakebake needs any backups.....

Prism doesn't have extra weight in the overmold, correct?

The prism has a proton rather than a neutron over mold. I think the density differential is pretty similar, but it ends up with a slightly different feel. Plus it's sparkly. The fission for me is pretty close to a perfect mid range and so I certainly don't need another variant. That may not stop me when the time comes though.
