Who has gone the longest without an ace? I have a buddy that has played for over 6 years without one. Anyone have or know of any crazy droughts?

I'm not sure how useful this thread is going to be. There are guys (and gals) that have been playing for 20+ years and have never had an ace. I've been playing less than a year and I don't have any expectations on getting an ace.

I have been playing for 10 years, but I changed my first time playing to this last July as I probably have played more since then than the 9 years before. At any rate, 10 years and no ace.

went 10 years without any aces til last fall. ive hit 2 since september. theyll come though,i know how frustrating it can be when you see somebody playing for less than a year and has 7 aces already :( . they come when you least expect it

I went almost 15 years without one. I got my first ace last november.

I'm going on 14 months now. But I refuse to lower myself to playing the short tees or really short courses just to get an ace. I'd rather get better and be challenged by a tough course than get a 'cheap' ace just so I can tell everyone I got an ace. I'll take a 180' ace if that's what comes, but I'd rather have my first one be on a somewhat more challenging hole. Maybe a nice 290' through some trees or something like that.

if its that you dont wanna get a "cheap" ace from the shorts then play with mids and putters on the shorts. itll make the ace just as deserved as if you did it with a driver on the longer tees. besides...whats "lowering " yourself have to do with short tees? are you too good to play shorts?

Working on twelve years without an ace. I've seen several aces thrown by some lucky/skilled friends, though. One of these days...

I love how people act like the shorts are evil and bad. If you dont play ADV or above chances are you are playing a round from the shorts every tournament.

That being said about aces...I don't get ate up over it but man when one looks like it is going in it sure does get exciting. I have seen several and they do look cool but I am not going to base my life on one.

About 16 years and an estimated 300 rounds - Lots of metal. Lots of 100'+ shots made. No Aces.

agreed,i play in adv and were playing shorts and longs this weekend at a tourney. if you have to keep yourself from playing the shorts because you think itll make you a crappy player or not make you "good enough" then your only hurting yourself in the long run. sometimes the course is a completely different look from the other tee's.

as for the aces if it happens its great but if not ..o well, its not the end of the world. well said billnchristy

How can one not have any expectations? I mean, haven't you come close? Coming close, would tend to make one have expectations in my opinion. Now, do I anticipate an Ace? Not really, but do I expect one day I will hit one, I certainly do, as I have come close on a couple holes at Circle C and I have also gotten extremely close on Hole 2, Hole 11, Hole 14 and Hole 16 at Manor's East Metro. So, I would have to think expectations would be there for anyone having come close a time or two.

But that is just my humble opinion.

Yikes.. I went 7.5 years..many splash outs..

I hit chains probly 25 times before 1 stayed in.

I wonder how long Cubby's gone with out an ace...

He went 2 days once because his video camera broke and he had to go get a new one before he went back out disc golfing. Cubby refuses to play if its not being recorded.

I introduced one of my friends to disc golfing, about the 3rd time he ever played in his life he got an ace in front of me. I had been playing for like 13 years at that point and didnt have one. That was a little hard to watch.

Cubby has 2000 aces and Ken Klimo has 110. Something is wrong with this picture, lol.:\

I've come so close that my mouth tasted of galvanized steel, but there are way too many variables when you're trying to hit a 2' x 2' target from 200+ feet out. I'm not burning anybody that has scored an ace...more power to them...but I don't think it's realistic to expect an ace at any point. That's just my humble opinion.
