Lamest "lost disc" story?

My son will be pissed that I told this story but, oh well. We finish playing 18 holes at Beaver Dam, Wi and we're walking back to the car and he says "I wonder if I can throw my Monarch over the pond." I say "Probably" cause it's not very far. He says "I'm going to try." I say "Are you sure you want to do that?" He says "Yeah". He proceeds to throw a fishburner about 30 feet out.

My (not so) lucky 171 Champ Firebird.
Playing Mt. Airy on Vacation. Checked a nice drive on hole 17. it's a blind shot, but it is wide open. I can see that it turned back in RIGHT in the middle of the fairway.
I looked for that bastard for about an hour and never found it.

I am guessing that someone is stuck with that thing now. It's like the monkey's paw.

On a local course (Univ. of south AL) hole 11 plays along the side of a large lake/swamp/creek (say 1/4 mile across)...anyway my friend has a nice drive right land under the basket. trying to match him, i drive, but release way too early and watch my disc sail out into the middle of the lake. doubt that one will ever be found

I found a DX viper in the basket one time. I called the number on the back and got someone else's voicemail. I left a message anyway but never heard back. It's a nice disc too, really beat but flies nice and straight. It's basically my backup TL now.

I have at least one in there; we've thrown across that from all spots over the years. One buddy in the middle of winter; put one on there when iced up. Ice too thin to risk going to get it. Nothing worse than being able to see a disc and having to leave it behind. :)

It takes a strong man to walk away.

So then, I loan him my Monarch, 'cause at that time, I really can't throw it anyway, (noodle arm), and he proceeds to throw that one in the river here in Waterloo. Of all the discs I've pulled out of there, of course, that's not one of them. Now that I might be ready to try the Monarch again, I don't have one. And to top it off, I lost my Valk (current #1 driver) at Standing Rocks last week.:wall:

My son's is the worst. I'm doing a bag check one night cleaning them up. I count my son's discs and ask how many he should have. He says 13. I count 12. He says he should have them all. I say nope the Ch. Monarch is missing. He gets an up-to-something look. Then he confesses he lost it 3 days before during leagues and didn't tell anyone. Here's the worst part. That was his 1st ever ACE disc. It had all our info. and a full cost reward, but we have yet to get a call or email. I do have photos of his ACE but it sucks to lose that disc.

I am still kicking myself over this one. I lost my Monster one day so I decide to go buy another. I get to the store and they are out so I spend more money that I wanted to and I get a Z Flick, because I know it is super overstable. I go a half a mile to the local course play 9 holes and on one of them threw my new Flick as a practice shot and just left it laying there. I owned that disc for less than 45 minutes. What a waste of money!

a friend on mine got a putt spit out, and proceeded to whip his aviar off into the distance,

never to be found.

funniest. moment. ever. :)

I did that to my #3 Hookshot. Threw my Buzzz, didn't like the shot, so I threw my #3 hookshot to redeem myself, then walked over and finished the hole with my Buzzz. Didn't realize until later that night that I had just left that #3 hookshot laying there.

I lost my Discraft Avenger SS on a pretty good shot, just off of the fairway. I seriously looked for an hour before I gave up. I scoured every bush, every square inch of the course!

I got a phone call from a guy who found it a couple of days later. As it turns out it was in a tree about 7 feet up. No wonder I didn't find it. I felt really stupid that I didn't think to check above me.

Let a group play through on a blind uphill 18th hole after teeing off. We were looking for my bro's disc in the tree, found it and continued as soon as they were done putting out. I got up to the basket looking for my surely parked drive, it's nowhere to be found and I hear a truck peeling out of the parking lot! Those little bastards stole my favorite driver at the time!

06 augusta wraith, 2nd throw. Drove 45 mi to PIAS ft worth, got in BOAZ round, picked the disc up on they way back to town and saved it. Go to a night cash job and grab the wraith for some pre work tosses. 2nd throw 'gadoOSH" right into the nearby man PLUCKIN MADE POND. boo

Here's a dumb one

During my first game ever I played at Orchard Park in Hillsboro, OR. I made a put with my Discraft Zone. I then walked away from the basket and then realized a few minutes later I left my disc in the basket. When I went back for it, it was gone.

I just lost my perfectly seasoned KC Star Wraith in my apartment. I let my son play around with it and a new Green Champ Wraith and I found the green one but the KC... nowhere to be found. It's about 2 years old and just perfectly broken in. Cleaned for 2 hours yesterday but still nowhere to be found. Probably in a toy box somewhere...

My daughter, Phoebe, rides with me in an all terrain stroller a lot when I go out discing.
She's a actually a really funny caddy. All my golf buddies put their discs/coolers/phones etc in the strollers sweet storage compartment for convenience.
The problem is that Phoebe likes to double fist a pair of discs while we roll along,
and will sometimes "throw" them without warning. She threw my friends red Star Wraith out on a fairway somewhere in Waukee's Centennial Park two weeks ago. Just couldn't find it...

Not my loss story but I was there both times

At creekside DGC in Camp Hill Pa the course plays right along the creek for several of the holes we go out and play one day and my buddy drives his disc clear into the middle of the creek on #10. It was the only disc he ever had an ace with. Someone calls him a week or two later and he gets his disc back. We go back to creekside shortly thereafter and what do you know we walk up to #10 and he sails it right back into the middle of the creek and we couldnt find it.

Hilarious for me, heartbreaking for him.
