[Discraft] Got a couple Z Nukes today, just as i suspected...

I heard the interior rim is shallow, much like a Katana.

If this is true, I have no interest in it and will stick to the ESP's.

headwind drivers without the flippity floppity of the ESP's... just don't trust my ESP in the wind.

Should I try a Nuke if I can throw a Pro Katana a little over 400' and a Surge SS and Destroyer around 375'? What disc would you compare the Z Nuke to stability-wise?

A regular Surge but faster......and the Zs may be a little more stable (or at least I hope)

I hope to have one of these soon enough but I suspect it is not going to supplant the ESP's I already have, especially living at elevation.

That's what I thought until I gave mine a good rip and out drove three baskets. The plastic feels softer than some of the other z plastic I've tried in other disc. It's what I wanted the ESP Nuke to be only with a little bit more fade.

Looks like I'm gonna have to order a couple of these to try out. I like my ESP Nuke's, but I could use a little more stability....souinds like the Z-Nuke will be perfect. Plus, those purple ones are bada**!

i'm loving m Z. My memorial has become more of a hyzer flip disc. The Z flies more like my surges (which I love). of course I havent beaten in the Z so only time will tell.

supposedly Discraft said they'd be run down to 164-166 (I can't remember exactly) but the lightest I've heard of anybody seeing is a 170.

Its a noticable amount more LSS, and is also more HSS but not in a way that costs you much D. The reason i got away from boss' was the star ones suck, the pro ones bomb, but break in to something i didnt like, and the champ ones were too overstable. This is like a perfect harmony of stability and durability.

You will probably not get the midflight movement in the Z you get from the ESP, which for most people will mean slightly less D overall because I dont believe the Z/Champ plastic glides as well as others do. But so far, in light headwinds theres no problem, havent really had a chance to throw in anything over a 10mph gust so time will tell. The extra stability really allows for FH throwers to use this disc more so than in the ESP. I used my ESP's for the occasional flick, with mixed results. Part of that was due to me not using sidearm shots for D very often, but occasionally id get a dialed throw and it would sail.

To me it wont outright replace my ESP, but it will compliment it rather well. If its half decent in the wind, may take my Force out of the bag (we'll see)

* and to whoever asked, No, its not shallow, and definately doesnt feel like a Katana

I got a pink 174 Z Nuke today. Based on a few throws in the field, it seems less stable than the first run ESP Nukes I've thrown...and mine is the stiffest, domiest, and has the highest parting line of the 50-100 I looked through, so it seems the Z Nuke is closer to a Katana than a Boss for sure.

fixed.:p

My Z Nuke (pink 174) actually seemed much more impressive on the course today than it was in the field. It really flew well being thrown 85%...At near 100% in the field it was too flippy, but I seemed to forget that I don't throw 100% on the course, so it doesn't really matter too much what it flies like at 100%. I also like it better than the ESP for versatile distance. It doesn't get the weird lift that my ESPs sometimes got when I was trying to keep them low, but it also doesn't get the FREAK long throws that the ESP did from time to time. It is fun to throw and I look forward to throwing it some more. It doesn't seem like the point blank tree smash that it suffered yesterday had any effect on its flight today, which also makes it better than the ESP.

I can tell already that it TOTALLY KICKS THE FR STAR KATANAS ASS! Those sucked so bad that after 5 throws I had no desire for any more, but the Z Nuke is getting me a little excited.

I think the Katana takes some time to get right.... I haven't tried the Nuke yet but I'm guessing it's similar....no?

They should take some time to get perfect, but should show some major potential right away. I think the Katana is a good mold, but I just think that those first run Stars molded up consistently bad. Since discs got faster than the Firebird, I've never seen a run of Innova discs that molded up as universally flat as the FR Star Katanas. The Z Nukes feel 100x better to me...Even the flatter ones still have a nice overall profile.
