I never see anyone stretching before they play. Myself, I stretch before and after every round. Am I alone in this, or does anyone else see the importance of lengthening muscles before use?

Why stretch when you can use Ibuprofen. :D

I stretch for about 5 minutes prior to starting each round.

I stretch before I play, definitely helps get loosened up. I've found from playing ball golf that its best to do only light stretching though. I used to really stretch things, and then after a few holes, especially on a slow day, that I'd start feeling like I was tightening up and so I would have to keep stretching throughout the round.

So I do some light stretching. Do a little movement to get muscles warmed up, then, take a few practice/warm up throws.

I find it funny watching watching people get out of the car walk over to the first tee an throw, then get upset that they make a bad first throw.

I always stretch before my first round of the day. I usually do it at the first tee, as I wait my turn to throw. Mostly just my throwing arm and my back is all I stretch out, but I always do it.

I don't ever stretch for any physical activity, whether it's skateboarding, weight lifting or Disc Golf. Never seemed to make a difference for me.

At one time I've never stretched before playing.

Then age, and paying terrible consequences for not having stretched, converted me.

Now I stretch even just to practice putting.

Actually, yeah. They get up, stretch, stalk the prey with a lazy walk (aka; goin out for a stretch), get close, stretch out on the ground. Then, after being well stretched, they run after the jazelle is in pouncing range

I stretch every time I throw. Usually at home or sometimes at the course. It is a habit I picked up from surfing. I have never been injured in DG (knocks on wood) except for hittin my hand on badly placed teesigns. I also stretch regularly, before excercise or not, because I am getting older and wanna stay in pretty good shape to participate in this great game as well as surfing, diving, and rock climbing

I usually do some light stretching: arms, torso, back, legs, hips. I find it does help a bit

The heavy stretching is the truth, after I've played, about my score and how far I threw my drives.

It depends on the time of day and how warm it is out. If I'm playing in the afternoon on a hot day (which they all have been lately), I might not stretch very much. If it's in the morning and it's a little cool, I might stretch a little more. Honestly I don't know much it helps me physically, but just the going through the motions helps me to get focused.

My understanding is that warming up before exercise is much more important than stretching. In fact, you're supposed to warm up before you stretch. Stretching after exercise is a good idea, though.
