Etiquette of found discs.

Ok, here's a question.. if the disc found in the lake was used to get an ace.. does that ace still count even if the disc is now in the lake? Does the ace count for the new person that found the disc and the old owner loses the ace?

I like it timg getting a little attitude!

If somebody called me and told me they had a disc of mine that they dug out of the bottom of a lake, I'd tell them to keep it for their troubles. If it were a disc lost in the woods or on the course, I'd try to go and get it back from them if it were feasible.

I say you have to call, you'll still end up keeping 95% or more of what you find, but at least your conscience will be clear.

Possession is 9/10ths the law! If I have possession of the disc, I own the ace!

GO and tell THAT! Homeboi!

Dammit, I found and returned an Ace disc, I should have kept it, it would have been my only ace.

Oh well, I'd rather earn an ace anyhoo

It's not an Ace if it lands on top (DROT), but it should count as zero strokes, 'cause it's even harder to do that than an ace.

Except on Tuesdays.

STOP NOW!
There are 147 threads on this topic and 146 turned into flame wars

thread derailed . . . it is harder to do yes, but noone is actually trying to do it, so why should luck be applauded. It's kindof like all kids getting a participant ribbon for a track meet, or the whole no child left behind initiative.

I was noticing that myself...maybe after the last couple of weeks timg needed to let off a bit of steam in the good old lost/found disc thread.

Maybe its because he allowed Kops Park back on the site?!
He is probably thrilled mashnut beat me to Diamond TR!
:)

always a matter of opion and up to the individual

i see a number, i call it, i don't charge them cash even if found in a lake.
some people do this, some don't.

Not attitude.. I made a similar post back in some other "lost disc" thread a long time ago. I just find it humorous that these same two questions keep coming up as if they were some great unsolvable disc golf mysteries.

I'm usually a little disappointed when I find a disc with no ink. Sure, I get free plastic, but chances are good it's something I don't throw. Moreover, if they had their contact info on the disc, they would have had a pretty good chance of getting it back if I found it.

It is kindof funny to see people asking the things I did when I first joined . . . oh how I have grown!

maybe in the post a new thread option there should be an automated search function for the following:

What is a cubby ace?
Does this count as an Ace?
anything lost discs?

...and so on

Maybe one day there can be an intro post or a thread list and I can put it in the site FAQ which will hopefully eliminate some of the mystery. It's just weird to me that questions with pretty clear cut answers even need to be asked.
