Take a look under the Members menu for the new Disc Browser. You can now see all the discs on the site, limit it to only those available for trade, check out all the losts discs and all sorts of other fun stuff.

As always, if you notice a problem please let me know.

I've had one issue so far when looking for a disc by zip code - it gave me the message

Database error 3 encountered

This script cannot continue, terminating.

Maybe I'm just retarded, or I figure I'm limiting my search too much - but just an FYI

Okay one more for you - sorry, I've been playing with this feature since it's pretty friggin sweet, and I noticed - as an example - I'll search by manufacturer - Say Areobie. Okay it comes up with it's several hundred pages - that's cool. I try Ching - I comes up with 2 pages - so I click to see the second page and all it shows me are Areobie discs. I back out and nothing. I'd tried it again refreshed and backed out completely with the same results.

Play with it, fix it, and play with it some more right? :) Good work though - I love this site more everyday.

Bug:
View all Tradable Discs (226 found).
Enter "Tee" in "Model Name Starts With" field and click Submit.
Effect is the City field auto-populates with "Tee" and nothing changes on the disc displayed results.

Previous bug appears with just about any Model filter I try.

Tim,

It's been suggested before... but now there's a real reason to start posting/hosting pictures of discs.

I think either the organizer or the filter needs another improvement to compensate for the variability of different model names.

E.g. "TeeRex", "Tee-Rex", "Tee Rex", "TRex", etc.

Either (1) allow regular expressions in the search filter, or at a minimum wildcards (RE's would be better)
-or-
(2) make the disc models a site enforced standard with a drop-down menu list of choices like the manufacturers and plastics.

I'll think about the picture thing. Regarding the models, the reason I do it the way I do is I just didn't want to keep track of all the models out there. It would be a daunting task.

Regarding the regular expression thing, that might be overkill and I would be willing to wager that many visitors probably wouldn't be able to put one together. On a side note, these two wildcards will work.

"%" Matches any number of characters, even zero characters
"_" Matches exactly one character

i like Erics idea. this way typos will be avoided and common names for discs like the tee rex would be avoided as well. chalk another one up for Eric:)

You make some good points. If there was a way to post pictures of at least discs for trade that would be really good. But I dont know how feasible that would be.

As for the variability in names I think an improvement might be good ... I noticed that it was a bit difficult to search for the tee-rex (that was the one I tried) and get all the results, so maybe an improvement would be good ;)

Yeah, that's why I figured you hadn't done it already. It'd be cleaner, but more work.

Any chance you could at least change those to "*" and "." (or "?") respectively? That way they're at least closer to what the geeks will expect.

I take too long to post :p

577 Wraiths owned by DGCR members...even more than Rocs!

I'll go out on a limb and declare the Wraith the official DGCR disc.

Whoops! Spoke too soon! 689 Aviars +19 more that were entered as "Avairs."

This is a very fun way to waste time!
