[Innova] The Orc

Do you own a buzzz or a leopard? Both of those would be great discs to learn technique with IMO. Once you master those discs you could probably start to move up to more aggressive drivers.

I think of the orc as a fairway driver due to the low glide and ability to hold low fast lines without gliding up and away

Then again Im used to thinking of fairways as 400-900 foot tunnels through the woods

See if you can get your hands on a 150g DX Sidewinder. I think you'll get some amazing distance out of that disc compared to what you're throwing. Just make sure you release it as flat as you can, at first, then when it starts to turn on you, add some hyzer.

I have a blue Champ Orc that is inked that I will offer to anyone that wants it. Pm me with an offer.

Oh yeah, my Buzzz and Leopard are my go to discs

It looks like we have played about the same amount of time and probably on a lot of the same courses ( I used to live in Portland ). Have you thought about TL? or maybe a dx beast if you want to try a "Driver" ? The beast is going to be a little nicer to you than the Orc IMO.

I love orcs, in all shapes, sizes, weights, plastics, and colors. That being said it might not be bad to put in your bag as work up to disc and a headwind or hard fading disc until then.

I don't expect an orc to really help you out at the moment, it'll just meathook; I'd also check out a TL or valk.
How are the buzzz and leopard flying for you at the moment? viking too

By the way Lokirising, it's nice to hear somebody actually give their honest throwing distance, I applaud you.

Totally agree. With that if you're having to put a lot of anny on a disc to hit 200' then you're a solid candidate for dedicated putter rounds and (this is maybe more important) playing catch with a lid. Focus on throwing flat at close range (>30') to begin with and gradually work back. No anny period!

Also at 200' max you're likely not getting any rip on your drives. Remember, you don't let go of the disc, it rips out of your fingers.

And to the OP. Forget drivers, any and all drivers at least until you can hit 200' on a flat, line drive (read: NO ANNY).

champ orc is my main distance disc

but i only throw a champ orc if i plan on hitting 300'ish... anything less i use my champ leopard or z buzzz.

champ orc
champ leopard
z buzzz

this disc combo may be in my bag 25yrs from now.

The Orc is such a great disc. But especially when new, it's going to act a bit meaty for players with <300' of power.

I'd recommend a 165g Champion Beast. Just as fast as the Orc, but not as stable. Another very underrated disc.

Stick with the Buzzz & putters. I throw around 275', maybe 300' once a round if I'm lucky & I use my Buzzz & Leopard as much as anything off the tee. You might be surprised with the D they can get, but definitely hold off on the Orc. Use the Leo as a max D but use it sparingly

loki, just because you don't throw X distance for Y disc doesn't mean that you are forbidden to touch it.

get yourself a star or champ orc, get out there and have some fun. if you don't like it, trade it for another disc.

i've had so much fun trying out so many discs over the past few years.

the only rule is to have fun. fail at that, and you might as well be playing ball golf... /puke :)

Yes having fun is awesome but if you are surfing boards looking at form and vids, then he is probably looking for improvement. Yes anybody can throw any disc but if you can't throw to the intended speed it will cause you to lose form. So if you can drivers only 200 feet then there really is no need to move up.imo.

so .... don't putt with a boss? :) check

Haven't messed with the Orc a whole lot. I bought a pearly one recently that I took on a round and drove past 50% of my holes over 300. I ended up just giving it to scottp. Nothing I can do with that Orc that I can't do 10x better with a Teebird.
