Hello everyone. I will be attempting the record for most holes in 24 hours through Guiness World Records on Memorial Day weekend May 28-29. The current record is 1114 set by Lowe Bibby through WFDF. I plan on hitting 1200 or more :).

This record attempt will also be a charity drive for the local Family Mission as they are in dire need of materials and have been in talks of shutting down due to funding. I will have a staff on hand not only to help me on the course with discs and hole/stroke tracking, but also to accept donations of clothing, food, toys, books, household supplies, money, etc to be given to the Mission Director at the reception held afterward.

The course will be the Kent State Trumbull Branch on campus course in Warren Ohio. If anyone is willing to come help caddy for any amount of time please contact me for details.

I will also be looking for hole sponsors to help provide more for the folks at the mission as well. If you or anyone you know would be interested in sponsoring a hole or making any kind of pledge donation to the mission through this record attempt, please get in contact with me on how to do so.

Thanks for reading this everyone. I was looking for a way to get the community involved in Disc Golf and to give our sport a positive name in this area in hopes of more courses and better attitude to the sport in general.

if i posted this in the wrong place, would someone with the proper authority please move it.

Wow I'm impressed that isn't a short short course. There are holes over 300ft and one over 500ft. Good luck :D.

Yeah I'm gonna do it on a real course lol. And I'm getting a urine test to prove I wasn't on anything when the numbers come in lol ;)

Thanks bud! I just got a couple pairs of Milo II's in the mail from Keen Footwear the other week, I'm dying to put them on, but I know once I do they're on everyday! So I want to say thanks to Keen Footwear for the support and confidence in my record attempt!

Dude, 1200 holes in 24 hrs means playing 50 holes per hr! Pretty close to a hole per minute. That would be extremely impressive on any course, and I can't imagine doing that on a long course.

What are doing to prepare for the feat? Seems like a lot of training would be required.

Best of luck to ya! And I hope the charity does well.

you must get this filmed. I would pay money to see someone on the 1196th hole try to throw.

I know, it means walking at a pretty fast pace and throwing the whole time. I plan on taking a 5 minute break every hour on the hour to get in food, water, change socks and shoes if I have to.

I've been walking for hours on end this month, just to walk and build the leg endurance up. Only in the last couple weeks have I gone out and started throwing again. I plan on taking my next two days off (next Sunday and Monday) and going to the course and playing as many rounds as I can by myself.

Playing it by myself however won't give me an accurate read on how fast I can really go because I will be retrieving my own discs, whereas during the record I will have a caddy with me during all 24 hours (different people in 2 hour shifts) retrieving my discs so all I have to do is walk up to my lie and throw and keep walking.

As required by Guiness for a 24 hour/marathon event, I need only tape the start, every break, some in between footage and the end. They also require 3 different stop watches all synchronized and filmed during each of the segments they want.

I plan on having about 5 hours of coverage from my personal camera, there will be 2 local news stations out here as well as both the local newspapers.

At that point I imagine you are throwing 130g Gazelles and they are hyzering out on you.
From what I've found just by playing casual rounds last summer, I can throw upwards of 200 holes on a given day (playing round play with others) at a fast pace and not be all that tired. And from what the previous and current record holders say, my legs will be drained, my upper body will be somewhat tired, my arm will still want to throw and my mind will be elsewhere... I can't wait :D

Yes. I will have a paypal account for online donations as well as a bank account set up for hand to hand donations. Once the record is completed I will transfer the paypal account into the bank account, and then transfer to the Mission either through cash or bank account.

I haven't really figured it out yet but the donation system will work something like:
Any kind of donation, even 25 cents will get your name on the list of donators
A donation of 10 dollars or more gets you a sticker (Innova or Discraft)
A donation of 20 or more gets your name in the paper
50 or more on the news, tee sign
100 or more on the news, in the paper, tee sign, disc, name on the shirt ill be wearing

and if you donate in person or day of and i dont personally know about it, ill get you a bunch of swag for helping out.

Josh,

I wonder if you could make this a fund raising project on Kickstarter? At least the Family Mission might be able to do something there too.

I have played 18 holes in about 16 mins at Barnett park!!!! But I was running to every shot!!! 1200 in 24!! That is crazy!!!!! There is a short 9 holer close to me!! ANd I think that would even be difficult!!! Have fun and good luck!! Keep us posted!!!!

Good luck? Id try a shorter course though. Cause if you set the record on this course, somebody else will just crush your record on a shorter course. 75 miles in 24hrs, wow!

I recommend a shorter course if you plan to actually break the record. If you break the record on the course you have chosen, that will be incredible! Good luck to you though...I hope you have success and regardless of the outcome it sounds like you are doing a great thing!
