Hey guys wanted to share some of my recent stuff I did for Sarah Hokom.
I actually drew her as a random dubs partner and had no clue till she ripped a sidearm and I said "Sarah what's your last name" hahah
I've had some success "erasing" the background and just leaving the waves by blow drying on low blow, high heat. it dries up the thinner stuff. just keep it like 16" or so away or it will distort the waves.
somewhere there has to be a msds sheet on this which should tell you what kind of dye it is so you may not have to buy the re-branded scented version of whatever solvent, pigment, or dye this is
I am curious to know if Jeff was using a readily available dye or a commercial grade urethane pigment or disperse dye. I've been racking my brain on this and you need to be a chemist to understand some of this stuff. Anyone have any input or would like to do a little research on the topic...
Another thing about the original brainwave. Jeff told a local pro who placed a large order previous to the incident that he used a different dye on glow as he did on other plastics so that they would still glow. I dye poly allows for the disc to glow thru and Jeff's colors where far more vibrant...
