I tried putting in the work back in the mid-'90s, but the sport was still in its wild west days, a good 20 years before I'd first hear the term "power pocket" and I didn't understand what bracing was until my own 14-year-old taught me how to do it...last year! Seriously, back in 1998 I once...
Thanks for starting the thread, OP...While we're at it, I'll be coming to the Columbus area to buy a used car in a few days, arriving Tuesday, staying the night and playing Wednesday when my wife drives off with her newer car. I looked at the area courses and recognize the Brent Hambrick...
Of all the suggestions mentioned so far, I've played Peoria and Idlewild in Cincinnati. Peoria has Northwoods, Wildlife and McNaughton that are all very memorable. I liked Maxwell too. My son played them in Jr. Worlds the past two years.
I've played Idlewild in Cincinnati and absolutely...
Last season I was one event shy of my own personal record for number of events, only the year 2000 and Am worlds eclipsing that. It's been a long time since I've played in more than 4 or 5 in a single year. What I learned, now that I'm MA-50, is that yes, I do enjoy them when it's not raining...
I imagine it's been said (not in the mood to scroll a bunch), but I sure enjoyed watching the world's best-ever players have to play something naturally hard all day long. Top cards were still under par. This is the way it ought to be.
Ru4por and Bogey will know for sure, but I think they install baskets for toboggan in summer for the USADGC and DGLO, take them out, then put them back in again for a month in October, which is a newer treat for us. No snow there now, but it is an actual toboggan recreation area in the winter...
Johnson Park is around 15 minutes away, to the west, and probably has the most holes with the most interesting elevation. It's a short course designed in the early '90s, so if you're a big distance guy who loves that aspect of the game, probably the Brewer Park long tees would be your best bet...
I didn't really start to feel the getting old thing until 45 hit. It's five years later now and I'm on another getting older gear past that for sure. It's happening fast.
So...You've got a year left! Live it up!
>>...dunk them in the cooler with your beer. I doubt the balls would hold cold temperatures long but I don't think they will be harmed by the cold...<<
That would be a funny couple of sentences to encounter at a campfire-type event or something but only hearing that part. The struggle with...
I can't remember where I read about somebody on DGCR using turmeric instead of ibuprofen, figured it might have been in this "old farts" thread. I wanted to thank whoever that was. I'm on week #9 of a teaspoon of regular turmeric from the spice rack and ground up black pepper over the top of...
Meyer Broadway in Three Rivers, MI has both world class Disc Golf and mountain biking that intertwine quite a bit. We respect each other, and I've never heard of a problem.
