Ok so a local 9 holes golf course is very interested in installing an 18+ hole disc golf course. I did a tourney on this course with portables and it was a raging success in all ways.
This course is a bit different than your usual golf course, it's a privately owned kind of backwoods type...
Hey guys, as mentioned, some friends and I are heading up a new course up here in Canada. We will obviously be looking for help with design and such but for now, what I really wanna see is pictures of common and unique obstacles that you would see around courses or to guard the greens and also...
As for a designer, I have contacted Logger at MDL and he's willing to consult via phone and I have a few other designers that have reached out with the same offer. A friend from MN is going to come up and help us with the flow of the holes and such.
Actually we opted to make it a free course. The property owner actually just wants some help with the grass maintenance costs which we can generate via grants, sponsors, tourneys and league fees. When I said destination course, I meant as a secondary goal. Mainly we want this course to give...
Hmmm... see I was told that there were certain guidelines that had to be met for a course to be PDGA sanctioned/approved etc.. we have a course here that apparently can't get such a title because of the fairways being too close together.
After playing Mont du lac I went to one of my local ski hills and asked if the owner would be into putting in a permanent disc golf course and he was extremely into the idea. 18-36 holes and more worth of space, uphill, downhill, flat land and water hazards etc.
From the get go, we want this...

Awesome little freebie 9 holer
Absolutely killer atmosphere, really loved the park itself even just for a nice walk, it was beautiful. The course is extremely well maintained which I assume is a city job so it really rocks for a free course. The shots while short were a challenge due to the...

Solid 9 holes!
Beautiful terrain, beautiful views, very friendly staff and groundskeepers. A mix of wide open shots and some obstacles. 300' holes mostly with some shorter ones mixed in.
It's mixed in with a short little golf course that looks to be for irons and wedges etc. There was no one...

Someone please redeisgn this mess
It's a free course which is great and the property it's on is absolutely gorgeous with great views of the lake side. The potential is totally there for a really cool bunch of short holes with tight lines.
We played holes 1-4 and it seemed like it was going to...

Cut the grass!!
Long shots to test out your arm. A great mix of up, down and across hill shots and a pretty damn cool layout. A lot of work was put into the pin locations. Great staff and great food at the chalet.
The grass was very long on the ski hills and it made finding discs a serious pain...

Wow...
This course really challenges the players. You need a serious mix of shots and discs to play it effectively and you need to do it precisely or you will spend a lot of time looking for discs. The design is really awesome as well. The tee pads are great and the chalet has great staff and...
I got sick of softball cleats giving me problems on the ball field so I switched to a speedcross 3 and fell in love a few years ago. They are an amazing shoe for softball and hiking but I haven't used them for DG yet.
I guess my worry is the twisting of the balls of my feet and steps on...
So my girlfriend starter with a skeeter and then kind of grew out of it. We picked her up some discs that are supposed to be good for lower arm speeds. She got a seer, a diamond and an underworld.
Question is, while I know that for bigger arms, throwing understable drivers means throwing them...
