Hey, regarding the beers you sent me home with: the day before Steve and I met up with TerryC and Juke; we played our way down into Illinois and back up; finishing near Milwaukee. In the middle of the day, we hit up Fox River Park, Silver Lake, Wis. I got to play solo; sent Steve off on his own. I played the grey (good) course. Steve played 18 on grey, nine on red, and the back nine of grey again, meeting me on #15....that speedy bastard. I took a couple of smoke breaks while playing, and drank both of the fine beverages and had a blast; though the course kicked my arse! Steve, of course, in my absence, reported great scores! :)
Last weekend was a blast. Steve and I played seven courses on Thursday (including the illustrious Kops Park/2 baskets/in the dark. Played Sussex on Friday morning and then met up with TerryC and Jukeshoe; John Dorn joined for Brown Deer and Dredzka. We played Fond du Lac (Adiele Park) in the dark. Sat.: Plamann 27, Grignon with Grandpa Rich (who they loved; and who didn't give them much hassle about the glass bottles :), nine at Rollin Ridge in the light; and 18 glow round (17 players playing). Terry managed to take home a bit of second place cash playing with Ollie. Sunday morning, O'Hauser Park. Stevie V. took first with his partner in the glow. Would have been great to see you; but it IS a long haul. I will probably play somewhere Sunday, local. Have fun at the private.
Yeah, that is a hell of a haul all right. I won't lie, I am glad I won't have to be leaving this area at 10 PM or so. But, it would have been worth it to give you a lift. Should be good times anyway, as long as I don't freeze to death.

    Later!
Oh yeah. Ohhh yeah. Those courses we played easily hold their ground against anything else I have played. Meaning, on the whole, the qca is probably my top destination spot, beating out Cincinnati, St. Louis, and NW Indiana.

I will be trying to drag the wife and some of my friends out there at some point, without a doubt. I will definitely let you know ahead of time (probably not this year :(). Hope you can make it this weekend, if only to hang out with you on the drive up there!!!!
    Yo man,

Thanks for having me this weekend, one more time. That trip really put me in my place, I feel like a weakling child after some of those courses. I hope you can make it up this weekend; it sounds like we might be doing our own thing, but I'd be more than happy to give you a lift regardless.
Done and done! I also have a hydra, which floats of course, but I just imagine it floating away. I also have a golden retriever, I haven't used it yet but we might find a good spot to go fishing. But yes, I have a box of DX that are dying to go for a swim.

See you later on man , I am getting giddy about this trip!!!!!!!!
Also, when are you planning on heading up there? I might be tempted to take a half day on Friday, depending on what you guys are doing. The sooner I know the better. Thanks!
Hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea how pumped I am. I don't care if it rains fire, I am psyched about playing those courses. I hope we get quantity and quality, but won't mind playing a kickass course multiple times either. It'll just be me, Lindsay can't make it.

    Party
Yeah, we played the three Joliet courses that you saw, we hit another one up beforehand, and then the wife and I played a glow round in Lombard :D. I was playing out of my mind, too, putting has been insanely better lately. Just signed up for the PDGA; it was that good!

Indeed, WCG is all about the Wiscy. I think he and tallpaul have played a bunch up there, so I imagine we'll meet up at some point for sure.

Oh man... QCA this weekend sounds like a freaking awesome time. I asked Lindsay about it last night and she gave the approval. She is in the process of shopping for a new car, otherwise I think it is a done deal. I will be sure to keep you posted, when would you have to know for sure? I can just go by myself if need be too, heh heh heh.

    Alan
Nice, nice. I like the breakdown of the courses, there are definitely a ton that I have to see in the state. We had a gigantic DCGR meetup this weekend, there were 12 people that showed up! Lindsay and I ended up playing 97 holes on Saturday, and I did another 54 today. Phew.

Halloween weekend we are probably going up by Winter Park in Kewaunee, staying at WorldsCoolestGuy's cabin. I am really looking forward to that trip, I have heard only amazing things about the courses up there.

As far as this weekend, is that ozark mtn thing down in St. Louis? We might be able to do a quad cities trip but St. Louis is probably pushing it, maybe not though? Shoot me some info if you are serious, maybe I can persuade Lindsay.

    :hfive:
What's going on man? Just wondering how you liked the best that Chicagoland has to offer (more or less). I am curious to see how they stack up to the many, many other Illinois courses you've played and I haven't, like Camden and such.
thanks for the message...i'm a big fan of the foundation courses. only been out there 3 or 4 times, but that's 27 holes of some really good, challenging golf. only a couple of nit-picky 'cons', and a whole lot of 'pros'. i've got a set of pics from the champ course as well that i'm going to be uploading, probably this weekend...thanks again for dropping a line!
Did you ever get the chance to do a write up on the Pisshole? I would like to get a copy of the pic from that day if you have it. I had a good time throwing with you guys and hope you had a good trip down here!
Thanks for your reviews of Houston Courses, its nice to have some outside perspective. Have you posted anything on your entire trip? I'm interested in seeing your full ranking, although i saw you have shawshank first (Great pick, i hear...unfortunately its still in the wish list for me) Keep up the good work
really nice pics and captions for the new lindenwood course- makes me want to get out there even sooner!

thanks for taking the time and doing the work...
