Review by jacobsladder in course Wirth Par 3

2.50 star(s) Great place to try to convert ball golfers to the sport. I met a crowd of 50 somethings and let throw a hole. It wasn't easy for them and they ended up appreciating Disc Golf for what it is. I also liked the feel of being on a well groomed course. I enjoyed all the extra feet that i gained...

pDGA loosening rules on night golf play!

OK, it's a Twin Cities thing, maybe just a "kids from Shoreview" thing. I'm hoping to play some Duluth courses this Spring. Do the lumberjacks up there still play with circular saw blades? HAHA. Just kidding.

pDGA loosening rules on night golf play!

At night, we will play "chain and basket". This might just be an MN thing, but if the disc hits any part of the chains and any part of the basket, within the same throw, having to hit both, we count it, for either par or bogie shots. You cannot call "chain and basket" on an eagle or birdie shot...

pDGA loosening rules on night golf play!

I totally agree with this. The other day I played a packed course in St paul MN in the morning. It was so packed that we had 3 groups waiting per tee in front and in back of us. I felt rushed and haven't played the course enough to know where all my shots would go. My day round was +3 over par...

Review by jacobsladder in course Wildcat Bluff

4.00 star(s) Great challenging course with many tee options, elevated tees, giant distance shots gets too busy in the summer While visiting my Grandmother on Thanksgiving, I realized that she lives 5 miles from this course. I will be visiting her more ofter knowing this. I started the course late and played...

Review by jacobsladder in course Shaver Park

3.50 star(s) Many challenging shots. Nice tree cover that would provide plenty of shade in the summer. If played in the fall, you may lose a disc under all of the leaves Hole #1 was recently shut down because a child was hit with a disc on the playground nearby.

Review by jacobsladder in course Hickory Hills Park

3.00 star(s) Scenery is nice Well maintained courses Presents many challenges for all levels of players Popular park for swimming and camping in the summer. Some holes may be hard to play due to people on the course When i recently played this course, I realized that I played it 15 years ago when I lived in...

Review by jacobsladder in course Legion Park

3.50 star(s) many hole types: wooded, hilly, open fields, nice tee pads and baskets, some creative holes involve power line towers, #20 hole is a nice throw from under a tower and over a stream to the basket hard to navigate, I wasn't able to determine what holes were still in play, or under construction...

Review by jacobsladder in course Fay Clark Park

3.00 star(s) Clean, well groomed course Nice tee pads and baskets Not a lot of trees or challenges. When I played, it was windy and I had to worry about hitting joggers because most of the course is designed within the confines of a jobbing/walking path This would be a good course for beginners or anyone who...

Review by jacobsladder in course Dysart City Park

1.50 star(s) Close to Hickory HIlls in Laporte City To close to other activities in the park. Busy park and children present Too few holes I played this just so that I could add it to my list of courses. Not recommended as a destination course.

Review by jacobsladder in course Charma Park

2.00 star(s) Easy to play Able to play the course quickly Little used park Close to playground, may not be able to throw if children are present Close to a picnic shelter Holes are short, mutiple tees for different holes I had cousins that lived in this town as we grew up. We went to this park many times...

Review by jacobsladder in course West Pulaski

2.00 star(s) Easy park to find, right off of main highway. Not a busy course. Easy warm up course on your way to Annandale/Clearwater. Has a very cool hole that has you shooting right onto the lakeshore. If the water were high, the basket would be surrounded by water. Easy course for Aces and Birdies A few...

Review by jacobsladder in course Saint John's University

3.00 star(s) Nice Signage, slabs placed into the ground, with hole design, distance and par. Beautiful views of a lake. Ran into many college girls while walking to the course who informed me that no one ever plays disc golf on this here. A trail has been mowed that guides you to the next hole. Granite...

    Elevated basket

Blue Ribbon Pines has many innovations to this problem. One solution they have tried for the past year or so is to hang a basket from a tree with a chain. You can also swing it from side to side for a challenging moving target.

    [Innova] The Valkyrie, a discussion.........

I have a DX 4th run Valk. I just started using it about a month ago. My go to distance driver is the DX Beast, 172 grams. I throw the valk when i need a very straight shot with less distance than I get from the Beast. I also use the Valk when I have a longer than usual put because I am able to...
