Round notes:Dayna and I climbed to Hanger Lake today, another of Colorado's beautiful places. After that, with the CMC course so close by, Steve and Jessie headed over from Edwards after work and we played a round. Of the courses I've played in CO so far, this was my favorite. It was challenging with trees and changes in elevation but not so ridiculous to seem impossible to reach the basket. The more arid landscape and somewhat open Pinon tree studded landscape made the course unique to me. Once again, for a Midwesterner, the scenery is spectacular, beautiful mountainous backdrops at every turn! I didn't have a great round but felt like I enjoyed myself a lot! This is a course that I will definitely return to!

Round notes:After two somewhat technically frustrating rounds yesterday, mostly my drives off the T's. Steve and I got up early and headed to Edora, first for some driving instruction for me with only limited improvement. Ahhhh, some day I will have that breakthrough and this frustration will seem a distant memory, I have to remember that I've only been playing for six weeks. This course is pretty much open with it's own touch of trees for obstacles as you would expect a large park to have. Throw in a couple holes with water intrigue just for good measure and there you are. If I could be more consistent driving, placement and distance, I could have a chance at a respectable score.Edora is a really neat park, so many things to do, I couldn't help noticing all this as we played.

Round notes:Ok, so on my first day of mountainous disc golf, I play not one, but two difficult courses back to back. At least the sun was out to stay but the wind definitely picked up. Sundance isn't an easy course by any means but it was friendlier than Beaver Meadows. There are so many different obstacles, and the potential for great frustration but with the amazing scenery and constant change in holes who could be unhappy playing here? Some day I will return and be better prepared technically as a player and enjoy the shit out of this place.

Round notes:My first alpine disc golf experience and it didn't disappoint, at least from a challenge standpoint. My wife and I drove to Ft Collins from Wisconsin yesterday and here we are today with my son in the mountains at 7900 ft.We played in what started out as quite cool conditions, low 50's but sort of warmed up a bit as the morning wore on. I stopped in Ft last night at Wright Life and bought a Dragon, due to my less that stellar driving ability for the water holes. The salesman, Pete ended up joining up with us on the 10th hole and we played the back 9 together, pretty cool. As spectacular as this course is with beautiful views, mountainous terrain, wooded fairways, and challenging basket placement, it truly kicked my ass. Probably due to my less than stellar ability which made the course frustrating yet some of the most all around fun I've had on a course.

Round notes:Practiced drives in the soccer field and consistently put four drivers in a 20ft circle throwing 200 to 250 ft. Get on the course and crap...........grip lock right, hyzer left. Maybe threw six drives well and in the fairway, it didn't help that I felt rushed and the course was packed. It seems like I try to hard on the course and have to figure out how to relax and concentrate at the same time. Several large groups let me play through so that helped. One of the groups was from MN with one guy originally from Greenwood CO.

Round notes:Second time I've played here, first time scoring and alone. The course has never been busy, today only two other golfers at 3 on a Saturday. The challenge of this course is it's heavily wooded with some narrow fairways and blind baskets. The holes aren't very long but you have to be strategic or continuously play from the woods. Lots of dog legs which will help me fine tune my drives.

Round notes:Our second round of the day at Token Creek was just as much fun and since we now knew the course a little it made for a bit more confidence. Definitely more people this round but still a comfortable pace. We had a little more wind this round but not to much effect except on the wide open holes. Just a great way to end my six day disc golfing frenzy while Steve was here! The five dollar fee is worth it and I'll be coming back.

Round notes:An excellent morning to be out on the course with Steve, Ben, and Nick. This was Steve's last day here and the weather, last course played and the foursome couldn't have been better! I liked the layout of Token Creek, the only thing missing was elevation. I do think that's made up for with the well maintained greens, rough,(not to tall) signage and tee boxes. The course just has a nice feel and flow to it and it didn't hurt that we were all alone the first round and could easily play at our own pace. Felt a little better about my game here, more consistent drives but still room for a lot of improvement.

Round notes:Steve and I played 18 after visiting my mom in Crystal Lake. Not my favorite course, wide open on the front and the tee boxes are crap, not very well maintained. Didn't play well, especially my drives, probably the worst I've done in my short disc career. The wind didn't help but I couldn't throw a drive in the fairway to save my soul. It was nice to experience the difference in courses good or bad and the fact that I was out with Steve, that was a good thing.

Round notes:First time at Elver and there are quite a variety of challenges here. This was to be our first 18 of the day and it's a good thing we got an early start. Steve, Jessie, Tynen, Rich and Ben made up our group. I struggled in the wooded areas by spraying my drives everywhere. I could see where some diversity in driving would be an asset. This place is busy and it never ceases to amaze me how rude and then how courteous other players can be. I was a little intimidated by some holes and really want to play here again to get a real feel for the course.
