    Frolf vs. Disc Golf

from wikipedia... The word Golf was first mentioned in writing in 1457 on a Scottish statute on forbidden games as gouf, possibly derived from the Scots word goulf (variously spelled) meaning "to strike or cuff". This word may, in turn, be derived from the Dutch word kolf, meaning "bat," or...

2.50 star(s) Tree Golf Long. Beautiful Scenery through the woodlands. Lots of trees. Lots of trees. I think if you are playing through the forest the holes should be shorter.

3.50 star(s) Watch out for high water Nice length and you need to use all your shots. The holes in the woods are open enough that you need some skills and not just dumb luck to get through. When the water is hign some of the holes are unplayable. Lots of wildlife.

Review by mattmelcher in course Turkey Creek - Old Layout

3.50 star(s) Old times I used to play this course when I was in college many years ago. The first 9 is a little more open than the back nine. LOTS of trees and steep slopes on the back nine. Signs need some work. Challenging course that requires some luck.

3.50 star(s) Wide open with the ability to air out on some holes. Nice well maintained park. Signing and direction needs improved. It was a fun park to play

3.00 star(s) okay Elevation change is good. Takes into account all features of the landscape. Doesn't flow well from hole to hole and the signing is HORRIBLE. I was never sure what hole I was on or if I was going in the right order. Asked a local and he wasn't sure.

4.00 star(s) GREAT COURSE Awesome scenery. Wide variety of shots. Fair test of your playing ability. Nice signs and easy flow. Some memorable holes. Wet areas mean no mowing and tall grass in places. One of my favorite Des Moines courses

Review by mattmelcher in course Windflower Park DGC

3.00 star(s) Windflower Easy to play. A great course for beginners, but still presents enough challenge for more advanced players. You don't need a big arm and a lot of stamina to play. Well placed trees and the creek can cause problems. Extra tees on holes 2-7 can be played so you get 18 holes in. Short...
