    Tee Pad Size

one of the courses I helped design and install we did tee pads of all different sizes thru out the course. Majority of the pads are 6x12 with 2-3ft of level ground behind and in front of each pad but some are unique size. Hole 2 is slight uphill 500ft+ par 4 where the tee pad is surrounded by...

Review by mhulkman in course Pine Nuts

5.00 star(s) a gem in the high desert! Easy course to get to, just 5-7 minutes off of hwy 395. The course has its own space and parking lot with a practice basket on the left and tee pad #1 on the right. Porta potty and water right next to the first tee. Large custom made tee signs and tee sign frames...

Review by mhulkman in course Kenai Eagle DGC

3.50 star(s) my new home course! rubber tees and real baskets! Tee signs with yardage, easy to navigate. The course is in great shape at the moment, fairly easy to find your disc unless you shank it. Mosquitos were not an issue in August! The only con is safety. Altho I really like the overall design of the...

4.00 star(s) great alternative to the Ranch excellent terrain for a course with awesome views of Mt Rose and Reno. Lots of different elevation makes for some fun downhill, uphill, and sidehill throws! There is a very nice 9 hole pitch n putt, nice for warm up or kids n rec players. Although there is a...

snowboard n snow free disc golf in the same weekend!

Just FYI, anyone going on a ski/snowboard trip looking to throw some plastic at the same time on a snow free course, then South Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley is the place to go!! Due to an incredible shadow effect from the Sierra mtns, the Pine Nuts DGC in Gardnerville, NV is snowfree 99% of...

    smaller greens?

This is what I had in mind for smaller greens. The right side of the green and front of the green are wide open. The tree directly behind the basket is 15ft away and has been trimmed back to where you have a putt from under the tree. Slight downhill 350ft par 3.

    Pine Nuts - Gardnerville, NV

Had a weeks worth of rain which caused some delay but after tonight 16 pads will be complete and the last 2 will be complete by the middle of next week! Tee signs are still a work in progress with signs 1-5 installed, hoping to have 6-9 installed within a week, thats how it goes when people...

    smaller greens?

So Im guessing some of you haters for smaller greens must suffer from accuracy and distance control envy, lol. Most designs are set up for the big arms to where harder=longer par 3's. For the majority of players one can throw the best tee shot of there life and never birdie a 400ft par 3 because...

    smaller greens?

Sorry guys, I guess this isnt an easy question to answer since all courses are different and you would need to see the property. Its rolling foot hills, a lot of elevation with drop offs in some areas, and scattered junipers between 6-25ft tall. Its a shorter technical par 60. 9 tee shots are...

    smaller greens?

thanks for the feedback everyone, I really appreciate it. Fortunately there is an A-D position for all 18 baskets so the course can be set up to where only 6-8 baskets at a time would have trees inside the circle, so it wouldnt be overkill. As I stated, this is a shorter, technical course, all...

    smaller greens?

Hey everyone, I was looking for some feedback about making putting a little more challenging while rewarding accuracy over power at the same time. In ball golf, even at the highest level of competition a 5ft putt is never a gimmie. But in disc golf the better players are automatic out to as...

    Oregon/Nor Cal in August

Stafford Lake north of the bay area is beautiful n challenging. If you go to wine country in Napa Skyline Wilderness is beautiful and unique. The #1 course in the Sac area is Shady Oaks. If you make to Tahoe then Zephyr Cove is a must! Beautiful property in the pines with views of Tahoe and the...

The Real Face of Disc Golf

I agree and thank you For taking the time to post this. Ive only played a fraction of the courses you have and only a fraction of playing experience but Ive been blown away by the lack of safety on several courses. What concerns me is that this lack of thought for safety is eventually going to...

    man made obstacle opinions please

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I really appreciate it. I would LOVE to plant trees but it is NOT an option. We are in severe drought here in northwest NV n the county already turned me down on planting trees. I thought about used telephone poles awile back but that takes quite a bit...
