I went and threw a pretty good front nine before I had to go.
Sorry about that knee. Take some pain relievers (I like Ibuprofen the best for pain and swelling) and get off that knee.
Dude, I had a similar incident back in January, when I was in Iowa. I'll get OCD about a disc, if I think there is the slightest hope I could get it back. I got my Leopard stuck in a tree, about 30ft as well. I had to comeback the next day, but I got that thing out! I used a rope, with a branch around it. lol

Actually, the terrain here is pretty flat. But some of the better courses along the coast, even though they are flat, are still very good! Charleston has one called Trophy Lakes. It's actually a water skiing Lake. Small lake, but it's one HELL of a course! Lost 2 discs the last time I was there! lol There is also The Sarge which is one of my favorites. It's a swamp course! Very Cool!

If you ever make it out to South Carolina, put these two in your itinerary!
Those sound like some epic losses! You are lucky with some good mixed terrain there where you're at. One of mine went 30 feet up in a Tree playing a night round at 9PM (Green/White Star Wrath 171) and the Champ Wraith, The "Ocean Wraith" AKA the one in the pic on my profile page...

I left in a field after throwing 6 shots on a practice hole. How lame is that? I replaced it with a Green one that looks the same, but that Blue one was special.

Honestly, I find myself using my 169 ESP Nuke more than the Wraith lately, the stability to me is about the same and the Nuke glides more.
Yea. Hippo has an in-ground basket. Two hanging baskets. A basket on three oil drums. multiple baskets in mounds of dirt. A few on higher poles than normal.

Hippo I did do well on, Hogback is what killed me. There are so many birdie opportunities, but just as many or more bogey or worse opportunities.
we were there from the 14th to the 18th

Hippo was great, but Hills is better. There were too many gimmick shots at hippo, elevated or hanging baskets are cool, but when every single basket is weird, the coolness wears off. I did the best on hippo, par'd it in blues (4 bogeys 4 birdies) and shot a 60 on blacks with a circle 4,5,and 6. Hogback course is really cool, really wish I had it in my backyard. Super tight, the majority of fairways were about 10 feet wide at max, with gorges and big hills that made any bad drive, upshot, or putt roll 50'+

Those are the only two we got to play, only the tourney ones.
Got back from it already. It was at the hippodrome in North Augusta SC and there was going to be no extra time so I didn't contact ya. I think we only went a few miles into SC, we were in GA a lot. Took 15th place in singles and indian hills took 11th out of 26 teams.
Fair enough, but at least now you'll have more reasons to go home and visit :D Or rather leave the house when you do visit.
I told you about the possible 18 hole course by the old boy scout camp in Ottumwa. Nothing has been done with it since. However, I've been told the city is planning on making a new one around the lagoons, looping around the baseball diamonds.
Was checking out your wish list too. Need more Cali courses! In my opinion, Humboldt State's course is overrated. DeLaVeaga, Morley, and HB should all be on your list.
I'm also really bad at names so I could have got it wrong on the names. Gonna try to get on a course this morning, shovel in hand. SEE YA!
Yo Russ! Checked out the picture but that is not the Tom I spoke with @ East Bay in August. Don't know when I'll get back to MB. Hope it is soon cause we had a great time! I'll let you know if in the area and please do the same if you get up here to NoVA/DC area. SEE YA!
Yeah Bro... no problem. That was pretty fun. We just had a weekly in the pouring rain yesterday too.
    Hope your vacation went well.

My understanding is that it will be very close to Fort Fisher. Apparently some of the old Air Force Base is being carved out for the course. I have heard that it will be closer to the Intracoastal side of the Island
I haven't heard much about the Kure Beach course lately.
The last i heard was that the first 9 holes were supposed to be done by Christmas. I'm not sure if that's done.
The local Play It Again Sports is the best disc shop for 50+ miles. However, right now they are low on stock after Christmas. They said they had ordered, but I don't know if the new stuff has arrived yet.
Shouldn't take long. Mike is usually on every day, so he should get to you soon.
Hey Russ, thanks for letting me know. Barnwell, as you saw, is a typical small SC town, one of the reasons I have it on my wishlist is because I have family that live there and the next time I visit, I plan to play. Thanks for taking the pictures, I'll be checking them out next. Happy New Year.
