Newb. First post.
I'm thrilled to see the progression of disc sports. Its amazing how many member, courses, and events there are now.
I started playing organized disc sports in 1978 at LA Mirada, Oak Grove, and Huntington Beach. Back then I could crank a Wham-o.
Now, as a Grand Master, my jaw drops watching young guns throw 600 ft. And the disc are spectacular.
But the real force in the sport is the people. Individuals who found a life partner in a pastime. Who sacrifice much to advance the game, and bring others to it.
There were those few back then, Dan Mangone at LA Miranda, there are so many more now.
I play mostly with my adult son Kyle at Phoenix area courses. He's starting to beat his old man. It won't be long until I ask for strokes before the round.
I'm not a real social media guy, generational thing, but I'm proud to be a small part of this world.
