Review by Shannon Winn in course The Players Course @ Lake Olmstead

3.50 star(s) Water and Ant hills Beautifully maintained and quite scenic. Tees are nice with good structure for grip. Pretty much the whole course plays on a sidehill, so it will teach you that aspect of the game for sure. Not overly tight or long, and rollers seem a good option on several holes. If you...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Roland Park - Old Layout

3.50 star(s) Pastoral and Pretty A gorgeous park in the center of the Mennonite (as opposed to Amish) universe. Easy to get to from just about anywhere. Absolutely a safe environment for families. Not a terribly difficult course, but challenging enough, and a great place for tournaments. Some wooded holes...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Rutgers, Douglass College

3.00 star(s) Blast from the Past Birdies galore for the precise driver. Pleasant atmosphere, especially on a warm early spring day. It's a quick little course that won't take more than an hour or so to play, so you can get a lot of holes in if you make a day of it. The original course can be negotiated...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Ace Eight DGC - Old Layout

1.50 star(s) Open space Nicely manicured and fairly long the DeSales campus course is fun to play. Most of these holes are a challenge to card a two on, and some of them will never be two'd, without divine intervention. There is enough variety to keep a player fairly interested, and very interested if it...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Lums Pond State Park

3.50 star(s) Tight and Tasty There was a time when Lums was considered a very difficult track. Course proliferation and advances in disc tech have softened it's rep some, but it still can get the best of even a good player. It calls for accurate drives, and opportunism- get your birdies where you can. It...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Francis E. Walter Dam - Original

3.00 star(s) Evergreens and Bogs A fairly decent, moderately long golf course in a great part of the world. Plenty of parking, and the flow is pretty good. Pin-point accuracy is not required, especially if you're able to throw high and far. There are plenty of holes where twos are possible. As others...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Tinicum Park

4.00 star(s) Long and Tough Long, and well maintained course. Tinicum really makes you play golf. There's no phoning it in here- every hole offers its own challenges. In it's longest configuration, it may be the hardest course I've ever played, even though it's fairly wide open for the most part. On a...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Earlewood Park

4.00 star(s) Excellent design The person who laid this place out did a brilliant job. It may be the best use of a small piece of land I've ever seen. Many course builders have done way worse with better land. While the holes are close to one another, they do not really interfere with each other, and the...

    Most under-rated courses

Personally, I rated Sedgley higher because of it's rich history, and the great people who play there. The neighborhood is not as bad as it used to be, (I played there all the time when it was REALLY bad, and never had a single problem.) and the grooming gets better all the time.

Review by Shannon Winn in course South Mountain DGC

2.00 star(s) Rock Tree Park I live close to it. It doesn't take long to play. It's a convenient place to get a round in when you are pressed for time. Low scores are possible. There are one or two very good holes. The long one down the powerline is very nice, as is hole #2. #16 is a fun downhiller with OB...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Little Lehigh Parkway

3.50 star(s) Robin Hood This is a great course for big arms. It's manicured, spotless, and scenic. There is ample parking, and available amenities. All holes are challenging, and fairly well varied, as much so as a wide-open course can be. Worth playing. That said, the flow is absurdly awful, and...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Brandywine Creek State Park

4.00 star(s) Brandywind I've been 'round this track many times, and (almost) always had fun. If you want to improve your wind game, this is the place. It's located on the highest point in the state- admittedly Delaware is not known for altitude- and it gets severely windy here. Some days a ten foot putt is...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Prompton State Park

4.00 star(s) Long by the Lake A really fun place to air it out. Spectacular scenery, well maintained and challenging. Holes are well thought out for scoring spread. Get your birdies where you can because you're going to card some bogeys too. It's darn near impossible to lose a disc, or even damage one...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Sedgley Woods

4.00 star(s) Slice of History Sedgley...what can be said about this place that hasn't already been said dozens of times. I used to drive 50+ miles nearly every day to play it back in the early 80's. The locals are the best anywhere. They love their course, and keep it maintained beautifully, especially...

Review by Shannon Winn in course Jordan Creek

4.50 star(s) My Home Course I'm a bit biased, but this is a truly world-class disc golf course. I've played it since it first opened, and have seen all the changes- even the one where they moved the whole course across the street and then back. Variety, scenery, amenities, length, grooming, great new...
