A New Trusted Reviewer Data Spreadsheet Is Coming - Give Your Feedback

WooHoo!! That is really looking nice, and SO appreciated (especially by anyone who has ever updated one of these manually) Thank You. Even as a new feature it's probably already getting a 4.5 rating from me (since I'm sure others will have ideas on how to bring it up another notch ...you know...

Ever come across a wedding while playing?

Had folks taking wedding pictures at the previous incarnation of the Miami U Oxford, OH course, under the beautifully arched bridge adjacent to the chapel. We had a full tournament in play that day & the wedding party had come out during the lunch break. Seems no one wanted to talk to them, and...

Do you read reviews or just give them thumbs up?

Always read reviews on courses I've played and reviewed, but went on a kick there where I was skimming and giving out about 3000 thumbs up to trusted reviewers and others who actually had something to say. For the overly brief 'reviews', I actually tend to read them in their entirety to be sure...

    Harry Hill Park discussion

Pretty sure this doesn't need re-listed unless there's been a redesign? Harry Hill Park

A New Trusted Reviewer Data Spreadsheet Is Coming - Give Your Feedback

This is starting to have the look folks are wanting. Thanks greens! "Thumbs up/ down" appears to be those GIVEN out by the member (so this shows voting record, up and down) That's not nearly as important to this table as thumbs up/down RECEIVED will be (since that is an element of 'trusted...

    First sanctioned event--scoring

So far this year, in sanctioned events, we've been making sure that two players keep score on the pdga site, and each of the others keep the group's score in any way that works. Scores are confirmed and submitted after each hole. I keep mine on the erasable Discraft scorecard inside my...

A New Trusted Reviewer Data Spreadsheet Is Coming - Give Your Feedback

Obviously I'm impressed and thrilled to hear all of this on your part AND that Greens is looking to collaborate on the effort. I merely inherited the old spreadsheet from others when I was at the same level of statistical curiosity as you are now. Thrilled to hear we may have an option for users...

Where to Play? South Central Ohio

Paint Creek is your best bet. Regardless of weather, those piney woods drain pretty well (except maybe holes 2-4), so if the spring rains have sprung, your best bet might be there. The others have some steeper elevation if you're looking for that. Of course hole 6 at Great Seal has some history...

Where are you going in 2024?

We spent a week in this area (the Kenai peninsula) many years ago, staying a week in the RV my parents drove up that way the summer they retired. Took a week to scratch the surface, and the views and vistas were the most beautiful landscape we've ever seen. Having a moose cross the road and stop...

The number of disc golf player has declined, by a large number.....

I still renew my membership because my best buddy likes the challenge of an occasional tournament. But the (good) changes during Covid toward flex start, single round events really helped me to realize that I do NOT like waiting around all day for SLOOOOWWW players to play out two tournament...

    Areas with overrated courses?

Lincoln Ridge had a fairway terrace collapse (over five or six years ago) on hole 15, which effectively closed holes 14 thru 17. The park department put up signs indicating they weren't to be thrown, and stopped maintaining what used to be a few really spectacular holes. I don't think they...

    DGCR Aces 2024

Just had lighning strike twice... again. Literally. For the second time in my life, I aced the same hole with the same disc, about a week apart. Sure, it's a shortie (183' Batavia hole 5), but it was like deja vu all over again. My only aces this year (so far). :)

How many States with Disc Golf Hall of Fames

Nice! Add KY, since our good friend & Disc'n'Dat's very own Dan Bayless was recently inducted there.

    Ohio Solar Eclipse 2024

I'm planning to visit family in New Castle, IN for the eclipse, but not many awesome courses planned. Just hoping for clear skies.

Foot fault using thrown disc to mark lie

You are correct, and did right for a casual round. Might talk with him about it for future reference, so he doesn't get called on it by others when it 'counts'.
