    Other info

When reviewing courses, I tend to hit the things that matter to me most: quality of baskets, quality of tee pads, quality of golf, and quality of manicuring. I'll add in personal sentiment where appropriate. Amenities are nice, but unless they're over the top (Rollin' Ridge, Bryant Lake pop to mind), I really don't care. Benches at each hole, for instance, don't influence my ratings.

I tend to prefer wooded courses, or technical courses. I'm a mid 900's rated player (but climbing!) that throws around 400', as a skill guideline. Wide open bomber courses are just not my favorite, even though I do like to throw the occasional bomber hole.

If you have any questions regarding my reviews, or would like to play a round or ten while within 50 miles of Plymouth, WI, feel free to hit me up! I've played em all, and am always willing to show people around.

lucky you that RR is so close. i really liked the course. i guess that one line in my review was just me trying to find a concrete reason why i was a little underwhelmed with the course despite being blown away by the overall experience. it's also possible i was biased by the fact that i played a bunch of amazing courses across the country in 1 week! fountain hills in PHX, bailey and beaver ranch in CO, Kaposia, RR, and flip city.

now, if only people will be as civil as you once i review flip city and give it a 4.5, haha!
hey man, thanks for the thoughts. it is always a struggle for me to decide whether or not to review a course, especially a course like RR, if i've only played it once on a road trip.

perhaps a better way to say what i really mean is that there are not any left to right fairways, as far as i saw. i only played the middle tees but i stood on the box of every other tee to get a look too. there are obviously plenty of holes that require you to throw a dead straight shot off the tee to a landing area. maybe i should edit my review to make my intention more clear.
My plans for this weekend changes, traveling partner injured. Where were you planning on playing tomorrow?
Thanks for the heads up, I knew you guys were headed that way. I'm headed south of there, to a private layout for a work/play weekend this weekend and am playing a tourney in Marshfield that weekend. Have fun, tons of great courses around there, in addition to Flip. You'll be wanting to return to the area a number more times, after your first visit!
How does one link shows from Archive? There's something I'm not getting about it...never mind, I mostly figured it out.
Any chance you can get your hands on any old Stellectrics bootlegs? I miss the heck out of that band. They were friends with/kind of affiliated with Burnt Toast and Jam.
I am going to dib soon and just list random values of random objects. should get interesting
Stay in touch when it comes time for the Flip meet up and I'll more than likely come down and ride over with you if that works for you?
I think Tim was the other guy's name, and we hung out in some interesting situations as well; including some of those early NORMAL gatherings I mentioned in the thread. I did not have a driver's license during that time though, and was hitch hiking a lot; including a few cross country trips. So, it was tough to visit people regularly. :) One day I showed up at Mike's house to find he had moved; and I have not seen him since...:)
About the fondy guys: One was Mike, and that's about all I remember; despite the fact that he and I actually toured a number of shows together and I spent considerable time at his home a couple of times. Both of those guys were the type, that even if you knew them; there was no guarantee they would even answer their door when you knocked... :)
