I've seen mountain bikers at Delaveaga in Santa Cruz, never any problems that I witnessed. Getting along allows the park management to categorize the area as mixed use, a designation that can be an advantage for both groups when the parks planning folks review the area.
Almost. I had a fox run off with a disc in the fairway at Druid Park. I tracked the SOB down and he gave up the goods. My buddy lost one on old #12 at Seneca that hit the well worn fairway cedar. We saw where it went in and poked all through the tree with the retriever poles they kept stashed...
Having thrown regular frisbees for years before taking up disc golf I prefer the fan grip for precision approaches. I will switch to a power grip if the distance is at the end of my range for my fan grip so I eliminate the errors that can happen with a full power throw.
Having played Morley Field a couple dozen times when I was out there visiting family it was my guess as well. I got to play Morley twenty years ago when it was virtually empty. In the day time, and it wasn't raining. I can hear the locals saying <cough> bullsh*t! We flew out there the day the...
I did that playing ball golf once in a pretty remarkable manner. It was 100 degrees and I was playing solo, pretty much had the whole course to myself. I was on the tee of an honest par 5 and about to hit my 2 iron as I had absolutely no confidence in any on my woods. The marshall drove up on...
If you're going to add wrist I'd emphasize finishing with my arm pointing toward the basket at chain height. More completely, the line from the fully cocked back position and the release position should be the same line you want the disc to take to the chains. Finishing palm up works for me but...
Tips? Don't bet on the horses. Besides that for me at least, on c1 putts finish with your hand pointing at the target at the target height, usually palm up. I found that if I finsished pointing right or left I usually missed in that direction. Putting success is exponential. If you believe you...
There are so many it's hard to pick just one, but browsing the first course played thread reminded me of a one that could have ended up a lot worse than it did. I was playing Burke Lake #6 (was #9 back then in the old configuration) from the long tees. The hole isn't long but fairly tight even...
Mine was Burke Lake Park in Fairfax VA in '82 or '83. Probably started with a SuperPro and then graduated to 133 fastbacks. Saw guys playing with golf discs and was intrigued. A couple folks let me try one and I had the same result most folks have early on, do these thing do anything but go...
Is the retired golf course Goose Creek? I used to play there, beautiful setting. Hard to believe they're not building homes or data centers there. I see Westpark no longer seems to be open, maybe there?
It's an old course on a small plot nestled between neighborhoods just a few miles outside of DC. The designer did an amazing job getting nine holes in with large variety of looks on just a few acres while dealing with the issues of being in a multi-use park. Shout out to Timber, the hardest...
