Review by upfromtheashes in course Sharp Springs Park

4.50 star(s) My new double with Cedar Hill - The available land is quite varied, and the course design makes good use of the topography. There are open holes, wooded holes, water holes, cornfield holes =) - Good variety within the layout. Holes didn't feel repetitive. - Large concrete teepads, in good...

4.00 star(s) Vast Improvement HUGE improvement over the previous course layout. -Flow from hole to hole is very good, with signs pointing to the next tee. -Signs are fantastic. -Good variety of different types of holes: wooded, open, left, right, flat, hilly. -I really appreciated the addition of the 1000...

Can a pitch and putt course be top 10?

Yeah that's what I mean...I wouldn't give Radcliff a 5-star rating even if all of those factors didn't exist. It could never be as good as Idlewild even if there were no roads and no parking lots and no playgrounds. When giving out ratings, courses should be measured against one another. That's...

Can a pitch and putt course be top 10?

I'm just going to point out that I'm a wee bit jealous of the life that you lead.

Can a pitch and putt course be top 10?

This is where you and I disagree. Radcliff is a fine course and I've played it many times. The designers did a great job with what I would call a smaller-than-average plot of land on which to build a disc golf course. But I can't imagine any possibly way that Radcliff could ever deserve the same...

Can a pitch and putt course be top 10?

It's probably obvious that Magic Meadows is the inspiration for my question here, and I don't intend for this to be a "badmouth MM" thread, but rather "what constitutes the best of the best?" Is it possible for a course with an average hole length of 228' to be one of the top 10 in the country...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Mesker Park

4.00 star(s) Definitely worth a play - The available land is quite hilly, and the course design makes good use of the topography. - Good variety of holes. Longer, shorter, left, right, uphill, downhill. Hole design didn't feel repetitive. - Large concrete teepads were in good shape. - High quality baskets. -...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Preston Miller Park

0.00 star(s) First and last time I play this one It had good signage, as do most of the courses in Bowling Green. Imagine you're playing a 400 foot par 4, and you yank your drive way into the thick woods off the fairway. You find your disc, and can see the basket 200' ahead with a window the width of a...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Freeman Lake Park

4.50 star(s) My favorite! Not too wooded, not too open, just right. The front 9 has some thick disc-eating evergreen trees placed strategically throughout the fairways that have forced me to go monkey mode on many an occasion. Good length, plenty of opportunities to stretch your arm a bit. Very well...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Atkinson Park DGC

3.00 star(s) Fun little course - Surprisingly long. It "feels" like a short little par 3 course, but it's nearly 6000 feet. The longer holes, while open, are still fun. Many courses have no 'grip and rip' holes. I appreciate the courses that do. - Large concrete teepads were in good shape. - High quality...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Armco Park - Blue Course

4.00 star(s) Hills ‘n thrills -Water spigots around the park are AWESOME. When you finish a long hot summer round and you can wash off the sweat and dirt at a handy water spigot nearby, you leave happy. -Good length on course, with 6 holes over 500 ft. Fun to let em rip. -Made good use of topography, hole...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Armco Park - White Course

2.50 star(s) Hope you’re feelin lucky... -Water spigots located around the park were great and very welcomed. -High quality DISCatcher baskets. -The park it's located in was attractive and looked to be well maintained. -Concrete teepads and signs on all holes which included distances. -Far and away my...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Yellow Creek Park

4.00 star(s) Surprisingly good -Much prettier course than I expected. The extra 9 holes play in and around treelines bordering a couple of fields, and as such aren't as visually interesting, but the original 18 in particular make a very attractive course. -Maintenance was excellent, the entire course looked...

Review by upfromtheashes in course Madisonville City Park DGC

4.50 star(s) Great round of golf -First of all, I love the length. This is not a course that will have you teeing with midranges very often. It's great fun to be able to rip it on hole after hole. -The teepads were excellent. Large and well textured. The signs were better than average, although an...
