Ha! There's a TallPat on here, I love that on SNL. BTW, your friend John got back in touch with me and he was cool! He is going to help us out at a very good rate.
Sorry to hear you lost those drivers... I lost quite a few loved discs last year including a couple ace discs. I haven't been playing a ton this winter since it's been pretty bad out, but maybe about 15 rounds. Irish Waters is winter only, there's a tourney there today but I didn't get enough sleep last night so I didn't go. I would love to hit some MN courses this summer! I'm buying a new RELIABLE car soon, so I may be able to help out as far as carpooling goes. Heading over to Grignon right now...
    Paul,

I saw you were wondering about Irish Waters temp course. It's what you might expect from a golf course atmosphere -- long and open. They did a good job hiding some baskets around obstacles though. The snow is pretty deep in some areas, so it can be a workout. Finding discs is a bit of a problem as well. They plowed a 3 ft. wide path down the fairway on most holes, and have decent rubber teepads. There's one hole that plays about 350' over a frozen pond with the layup/safe option along the left side (don't know how much longer it will stay frozen...). There are some slight up and down elevation changes too. Lots of long bombers, a few around 400 and one close to 500 - some nice ace runs though as well. It's worth checking out if you have some time -- the clubhouse/bar there is open wednesday-sunday from 11am-close. You can get a course map in the clubhouse. http://www.irishwatersgolf.com/

    Let's play a round soon!

    Andy
Um yea, the first guy is seriously good. I still haven't gone through his whole gallery. He does the Ice Bowl? I haven't even made it to second guy, yet! Thanks for the info!!! :)
Irish Waters Golf Course, I took the Freedom exit off of 41 and it's several miles later. They put up 18 baskets and teepads on a regular golf course for the winter, I was surprised how well the holes were set up.
Wish I could, Im going down with the wife and kids. Putting them up at a hotel on the beach while I golf.
LAKE CANIASTA is over 6 hours away from me down by LA, so very doubtful as they are doing it in spring, PUSSIES!!!!! I won't have the real time time for the whole things.... its all good, i like my select group of discers i got now... and without neone wanting to chip in for gas and what not.. its just to much....OH WELL...
yeah, i agree most Cali discers seem to think they have bomb courses when really the only courses that caught my eye way Shady Oaks and Finnon... GOLDen Gate Park is fun but its not very challenging.... I would have loved to show you around... it woulda been my pleasure
Charlotte run, i see.. i am doubtful i will make the FREAK this year.. the time i come home in the summer is in mid june and i got a wedding but i am hoping we can meet up and disc around or two.. So, i been playing a decent amount of california courses and they really don't seem to be that tough...
So hey, try to fit in a round when you're in NC, at least in Burlington. That is, if you can't make Raleigh!
hey paul, its almost febuary! man i can't wait for you guys to come hang at the house for a few days when yall come to charlotte, im going to set up a glow course around the firepit here in a week or 2, this is going to be epic. straight historic my friends!
    Hey Paul!

I'm going to have to think about Charlotte maybe for a day or two. I'll let you know one way or another in a couple of days, and then we can start discussing logistics.

In a perfect world, I'd be "in" like a flash. :)
Ive been really stewing on this idea of going down to Charlotte... It sounds like a lot of fun and I miss you and Stevie as well. Apoth (chris) was asking about you, he said you seemed like a really cool guy. I told him you were the man and if he ever had a chance to meet and play with you to take it. Poth is a super cool guy too, you would definitely get along with him really well. Edit on my last post: I ended up playing with Apoth 4 times while he was here, good times were had!! He dyed me a star teebird and gave me a River for christmas, its a pretty cool disc and Im getting used to it. Its basically the same speed as a teebird but much more under-stable and way more glide. Tell the lady and the guys in WI Terry C said wassup and is waiting for his rematch!! Talk to ya soon.:)
Hey Paul, Merry Christmas! Im jealous you were in Cali, I heard the weather was rainy and stuff. We had a great meetup here in GR. I got to play with Apothecary for 2 days. One day was just me and him the other day was playing with a big group. Poth is a pretty good golfer, he likes the roller so dry ground might suit him better but he handled the cold like a champ and never complained about it. He's staying with his aunt near my house, she lives like 15 minutes from me, I think he's leaving back to cali the day after christmas. I am sooooooooooo down for going to Charlotte with you in April!! That sounds like a great time, keep in touch with me as that comes closer and Ill make plans to do it with you guys. Ill talk to you soon, great hearing from you Paul!!
yo paul, how is the trip planning going?? good i hope.. just let me know whats going on and i am sure we will meet at delavega... so hope to hear from ya soon
Cool cool. Hope you can make it; I got a travel tag that's dying to get out of state. Did you pick one up too?
What's going on Mr. TallPaul??? A bunch of us are headed up to the Grey Fox course this Saturday, to practice for the tourney the next weekend. Just throwing it out there to see if you want to make the trip this weekend or the next...
I work until 5 or longer each day, so weekdays are shot. I'd be glad to meet you out there on the weekends though. Also, I know there aren't any signs or good maps out there yet but I'm working on a better map. Took a GPS out yesterday & got the pads & pins & I'll also be able to get distances (as the crow flies). BTW, all the pins are in the "short" right now & it's still over 6000'. After playing it again, the closest thing it reminds me to is a mix of Standing rocks' elevation & some of their woods w/ a bit of elver style to it & a bit of Token Creek for the longer, more open holes. A great course that is only going to get better when they get the signs up & finish some work here & there.
