Beginner friendly 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 12, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Short holes, great for beginners. It's not in the woods so not a huge chance of losing a disc unless you throw a bad shot that goes way off the fairway. For more experienced players it's a good birdy race course that can help with your touch shots.

Cons:

It's a brand new course so there isn't really signs to direct you along your way, but not too difficult to navigate.

Other Thoughts:

Awesome place!

Nice university disc golf course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 13, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nicely mowed course next to sports fields
-Fun to play
-No cost to play
-Parking at Sports Centre (Athletic Union)
-I played golf at St. Andrews
-View of the James Gregory Telescope!

Cons:

-Mostly flat (some might consider this a Pro)

Other Thoughts:

The course was in excellent shape, with grass mowed nicely. It is not exactly a course off the freeway, but if you are in St. Andrews, you should enjoy this course. We parked at the Sports Centre, and the people inside the center were very nice -- allowed us to use their bathrooms and gave us a map to the course. There was no cost for parking or play -- as far as I could tell. Lots of grass, and some nice combinations of trees and grass on some holes. It's flat, but considering we were on a road trip, we enjoyed not having hills to climb or navigate. It was easy to find our way around the course. What a shock too, when we saw the James Gregory Telescope near one of the holes! I very much enjoyed playing here.

YES I HAVE PLAYED ST. ANDREWS 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 22, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-SAYING "YES I HAVE PLAYED ST. ANDREWS."
-NICE GREEN AND CLEAN LOCATION NEAR TOWN.
-ONLY COURSE I COULD GET TO IN SCOTLAND
-PLAYS FINE WITH JUST A FEW TRAVEL DISCS.

Cons:

-NEGLECTED BASKETS/ MINIMAL TEE PADS
-TEE 7 IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND W/O MAP.
(SEE THE KIOSK MAP NEAR TEE 1)
-VERY FLAT WITHOUT MUCH LEFT/RIGHT.
-HOLE 5 MOSTLY BLOCKED BY TREE CLEARING.

Other Thoughts:

I agree with all comments in the other review.

- Benji, the local Ultimate Coach, was just great. He is an easy going natural athlete and helped my niece and brother-in-law play better. You might try posting on the BDGA. That's how we hooked up.

Land of the other Golf 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 29, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

The setting was great in historic St. Andrews Scotland. Open Fairways were well maintained as they were shared with other sports at the University.

Cons:

Could use better baskets. The ones they have do not seem to be up to spec. Also the tee pads were in need of some upgrading.

Other Thoughts:

Weaving in and amongst the athletics fields at St. Andrews University this little 9 hole course was fun to play while I was in the neighborhood. A cpl of the holes were overgrown and in need of some maintenance, but overall the course was in good shape. The course was short but has nice open shots as well as a cpl of shots along narrow avenues of trees. It says that you need to pay to play, but I asked in the office if the course was playable and the manager said most of it was. Never charged me and I played all 9 holes.
