Better after Redesign 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 30, 2015 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Short and easy course that fixed the problems with the layout from last year.Nice and tidy park, that is not busy so you can have a quiet round (or 2 to get 18 holes in).

Cons:

A few of the holes are surrounded by tall grass making a risk to lose discs in it. a couple basket numbers don't match up with tee numbers, thus making it confusing to play.

It is very open so it is lacking any doglegs making for a very straight and uneventful game.

Other Thoughts:

A step in the right direction but still needs a little work to make it great. Tee pads, more holes, and removal of tall grass near baskets would make it a good course.

disc golf PR disaster 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 23, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good baskets.
Park not crowded some of the year. Few campers in late October. Restrooms open.
Unconventional design, you will not get Showboat Park mixed up with others you have played. Holes 4 & 5 must be par six at least !
Lots of chance to throw the driver as far as you can.
A safer course with 9 or more holes could be created here.

Cons:

Several holes are dangerous as they require blind shots into public areas.
All 4 park public restrooms are within 230 to 320 feet from tee boxes, direct in the 'fairway' and have doors on the blind side (pin side). As these holes are 700' +, they could be easily changed to avoid restrooms.
Extreme distance. My arm hurt by the 7th hole. I used a max distance driver on my first three shots on holes 4 thru 9.

Other Thoughts:

Is every course better than no course at all? Almost always 'Yes'. But not here. It does not represent our sport well and is horrible for youth or new players. The current configuration is dangerous and should be removed.
Have to give this course a zero as I cannot condone its continued existence in this format.
Previous review is very accurate.
You will be able to find the holes easier by ignoring your instincts when asking "could the basket really be way over through there?"

If the entire park was disc golf only - which it is not - I'd give it a 2 or more.
I recommend a complete redesign.

the most rediculously dangerous course ever 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 15, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Baskets--chainstars in great shape as no one apparently plays this course.

Cons:

Map and routing--awful. You spend more time trying to figure out where you are supposed to throw than actually throwing...

Hole 1--plays across the corner of a back yard with the potential of hitting shed or house with a bad throw. About 300'

Hole 2--plays near a basketball court. Probably the safest home here... About 300'

Hole 3--plays over and between public restrooms and over roads and paths. Very dangerous and about 700'

Hole 4--Rediculous... Plays about 1000' between public buildings down a very narrow path into a swamp.

Hole 5--the most dangerous hole in disc golf... 1100' blind turnover into the middle of a campground...down a road and up a hill.

Hole 6-- second safest hole. Plays about 7-800 ft strait on the edge of the woods.

Hole 7--1100' straight along the woods, across a football field and along a river

Hole 8--never found the teepost here but plays 800' across the same football field and across the end of two baseball fields.

Hole 9--the worst hole in dg-- over 1000' again. Down a road blind turnover into a very public area and up a hill near public restrooms.

Other Thoughts:

This course should be removed. The potential to build a great course is here but it is absolutely ruined by this awful travesty.
