10 years old, still growing

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 18, 2022 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The shot off of 2 can be amazing!
Nice and clean bathroom facilities.
Course is 10 years old and getting work done every year!
Beautiful scenery with a river and cliffs nearby.

Cons:

2 and 10 play at or very near cars/parking
6/11/12 have serious rough with real disc dangers as well as thorns to ruin any hunt
A couple of greens aren't even cleared of weeds inside Circle 1
Needs concrete tees
Can be a walk depending on where you park

Other Thoughts:

Getting better every year!! Honestly a fun course with strategy and some bomber shots. Worth it for advanced, great for beginner/intermediates.

Good beginners corse 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 6, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Short holes for beginners to work on mid-range. Simple holes with the occasional obstacle.
Not to busy.
Nice baskets.

Cons:

Plays a little close to some main parking lots.
Baskets are a little low to the ground.
Not a lot of challenge for the advanced player.
Only 9 holes so you have to repeat them if you want to play 18.

Other Thoughts:

I tool my 7 year old and had a great time. need to look out for the occasional bystanders. beautiful area and a nice place for a family picnic.

A Recreational Throw 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 19, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Scenic park setting with picnic tables near each tee. The flow is OK and signage is adequate considering all baskets are visible from the tee. Enjoyable with kids and those new to the game or if you want ditch your in-laws and work on your short/mid-range play. Pond in play on 4 and 5 and restrooms are available on premise.

Cons:

Baskets are not cemented and therefore wobble, which will likely worsen as the course ages. Several fairways put your shot in close proximity to parking lots or walking trails. Hole 9 doesn't finish near the first tee so there is a short hike back to your vehicle.

Other Thoughts:

Bacon Woods is the quintessential recreational disc golf course and is great for a family outing. BBQ grills, shelters, and plenty of picnic tables are available. We threw this course in mid April with few pedestrians about, but I have a feeling this park is busy in the summer and is likely crowded with non-DGers.
