Not Beginner Friendly
It's the only course in the area.
Nice concrete tee-pads.
The signs for holes 1-9 are nice (where they are still standing)
The map contained in the Files/Links section isn't accurate.
Holes 1-3 are blind when vegetation is full. Most of the baskets have very small landing...

Overall unimpressive
Very little traffic (possibly due to the park fee or extreme heat when I played it)
Concrete tee pads are nicely sized
Several signs were missing, particularly on the blind holes.
Poison Ivy
Poison Ivy
Sand burrs and stickers in abundance!
I would play the course again...

For the newbs
Navigation is not difficult (but I couldn't locate the 8th or 9th baskets, let alone tees)
Very easy beginner-level course. Every hole is ace-able for experienced players.
Nice location in a quiet neighborhood.
Tees are 2x4's embedde in the ground - look for worn, bare spots...

Short course with some challenge
Nice concrete tees, brand new Disc Catcher baskets. Good course flow. Water comes into play on 4 holes, either the small pond or the namesake Pioneer Creek. Excellent use of existing trees, shrubs and creek as obstacles.
#1 is a blind hole - basket is to the...

Pine River - Backus Schools DGC
The tees are clearly marked orange wooden posts
No course map or indication of where the next tee is.
This is a very ordinary, flat course with some wooded 'fairways'. Most holes are very short, but trees provide a bit of challenge. If you are in the area and...

Beginners Welcome
wide open field - very difficult to lose a disc
practice/test a variety of shots you normally don't throw with no obstacles
No real challenge beyond distance
Might be difficult during wet conditions - there are a few low spots & wetlands. If you live north of the metro and...

-Challenging shots on most holes
-basket placement is thought out to make aces difficult/improbable
-tee boxes are in rough shape, to say the least
-No hole or tee markings visible, makes following the course without a map nearly impossible
Definitely not a course for beginners - the foursome...

Excellently maintained, well marked tees & baskets, difficult shots on all types of terrain - I especially enjoyed (was frustrated by) the lateral sloping holes
Path from basket 5 to tee 6 could be better marked - I lost track of the fact that 6 was behind 3 and therefore skipped 6 & 7.
One of...

Challenging holes on the back 9 where water comes into play regularly - makes the fairways feel even narrower.
An errant throw on the back 9 makes for lost time searching in THICK undergrowth and lost discs
